Renntech Exhaust EVM

How legit and correct is this? Is it true if you have the exhaust option the valves arent fully open?

I know that when I had the stock Performance exhaust before I switched to Akrapovic, the flaps would be fully open when I pushed the button or changed modes. I could push the button or have someone push it and watch the valve quarter turn. Now with the Akrapovic this seems like it would be a solution to keep the flaps open, that being said its a lot of money.

One day I’ll write an actual in depth review and post some videos. In short before I got the catted dps it was quieter at idle but louder at full throttle. With catted dps it’s just insane love the sound but I have some valve rattles and a little rattle at downpipes to mid connection.

Looking at the installation instruction for the Akrapovic system, there is a procedure for the valves to insure they are in the correct position when swapped to the new system. Maybe your installer mixed this up? Just a possibility.

Sorry, once again. Didn’t understand you correctly. Valves of stock system were always open? Or they were quarter way open on stock exhaust?thnx

For me when I pushed the PE button or changed modes the muffler valves would turn and stay open. So quarter turn for the valve, you can see straight down the pipes.

I made another thread regarding the behavior of my Akra system. I’ll post the vid here, sorry that we are slightly off topic.

So, fully open from fully closed would require a 90 degree or 1/4 turn. 90 from 360 seems like 1/4 or 25%.
I may be absolutely wrong or misunderstanding something here, though.
I was told that there would be no math

To answer your original question, the stock performance exhaust valves are not always opened. The module from Renntech will solve that problem, via a box and a remote control. I went with ASR, whom OEM's them for Renntech. It was alot less expensive and is the same kit. Took my indy less than an hour to install in my W213 E63s wagon, which is a little harder than say a sedan. Regardless, I am now full opened all the time, and the sound is amazing. Plus I can revert back to stock by hitting the remote and then I can use the exhaust button in the car to open or get slightly more sound from stock.
If you have the performance exhaust, its a must have.

Seems like this is the direct link for the E63. Does anyone know how easy this is to self-install or have a link to the install instructions?

Info@asr-component.de is Michael's email. He takes a day to respond, so don't get frustrated. If you send me a PM, I have a PDF for the install. If you send me your cell # on PM< I can text you the video I made last night for another forum member..

When you email Michael, tell him the you have a W213 with the performance exhaust and you want the exhaust valve flapper module. He will then get your email and paypal info and send you the pay pal invoice. He ships quickly. The install in alot easier for the SEDAN, they did not have instructions for the Wagon, so my Indy and I had to get crafty and do it ourselves ( the wagon has different placement of cabling and modules than the sedan).

I emailed Michael and his response was to deal directly with renntech as they are the distributor. I’m not that interested in paying double for it so I’ll pass...

Sorry guys, I was trying to do the W213 community a solid here and save you some money. I had no idea the ASR guy would push all the interested folks to Renntech as the official US distributor. ASR was big on the C63 board and they sold a bunch of modules to guys in the states. Sucks when you try to do some good..help W213 brothers and sisters out, help out a company...and it all back fires.
