Instrument cluster brightness

I can't believe I have to come to the forum for this, but I cannot figure this out. when I got my car back from the dealer, the display on the left side behind the steering wheel is noticeably darker than the right side now . The only brightness adjustment I can find changes only the right side of the screen . How in the world do I adjust the brightness of the instrument cluster portion of the display?
Thanks!

Instrument cluster brightness wheel fuse

Hi guys,

I have a 2016 w213 e class.
until now the small instrument brightness wheel which is next to the light adjustment switch etc was working, but today it wasn’t.
does anybody happen to know what fuse i need to look for for this?

It doesn't work unless you are at night or the ambient light sensor senses the amount of light being low enough to activate the low beams and stuff. Just want to confirm if you did this at night?

As for fuse, there should be a fuse diagram in the trunk area where the fuse box is showing what each fuse does.

Mine works day or night.

OP: is your cluster dark or illuminated but not adjustable?

Huh? Many MB C and E that I driven ignores that adjustment at daytime when it is sunny out as the digital driver screen is automatically set to the highest brightness setting for maximum visibility. The adjustment only applies when the vehicle determines from the light sensor that light is insufficient, then is when the screen automatically lowers to the brightness that the user set. That being said, it might be region dependent or it might have to do with the options the vehicle has for it to function this way. It might even simply be a software update that changed the behaviour.

I can dim the screen as dark as I wish to in broad daylight. Not sure why I'd want to. They probably got too many repair requests from owners with "broken" dimmers that didn't work. MB has a history of backing off "stupid Mercedes tricks" that were over-engineered and just confused people. I had an S-class with key-dependent settings. It was very convenient. It would adjust the seat position automatically depending on whether my wife or I was driving. They dropped the feature the next year because people were complaining the seat setting had a mind of its own.

Ya like I mentioned they might had changed it via software or it was a region dependent decision on how the vehicle behaves depending on the data from the light sensor.
