I love this car too! Miss my 2020 and I'm getting really antsy waiting for my 2021 build. I don't even have an allocation yet! Not a great year to order a limited production vehicle with demand up and supply down due to all these crazy chip shortages etc. Ugh. I went ahead and sold the 20 to capture the great offer I got for it, and driving my old LR4 while I wait. It's not the same...Champagne problems!

Thanks,

-Feels and looks much larger than our 2014 E350 wagon. Same body bigger wheels but feels like they've made it bigger. My wife said she like hers more after driving 60 miles. She prefers a cushier ride. Lol
-Excellent overall build quality. Nothing rattles yet. Fit and finish are great. Very luxurious and I love the carbon fiber interior trim.
-Love the feel (and looks) of this steering wheel. Although the steering is a bit numb (as all electric racks these days) it still has some feel and a good weight to it. May need to turn off one of the many driving aids because I don't like the feel of it at times and hoping that's the culprit.
-Ride quality is solid but not too harsh, even in stiffest settings. Mercedes did a great job dialing in the suspension for 2021. In comfort it's just soft enough for my taste.
-Can't really comment on the motor because I'm a little crazy about following break-in procedure and haven't really pushed it yet. Will reserve my opinions for post break-in.
-Needs a proper dual clutch transmission. I notice slight lag and hate how the gears change even in manual mode. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
-Sad they did away with iWC clock for 2021.
-Hate hate hate the cheap feel and placement of gear lever on the steering column. This car deserves a proper shifter mounted on the center console.
-Seats are okay. I have an issue where the seat bottom feels like it's sloping forward and down and the only way to rectify is to move seat higher but then my head is hitting the roof. When moving seat higher it also feels like it slopes forward and just doesn't got straight up. The support under my thighs is inadequate. Feel like the seat bottom is sloping down and forward. Hopefully some adjustment I'm missing but doubtful as I've played with the seat for hours. Really wish they gave us the buckets in the US for 2021. That's a shame for such an expensive car. We should have all the options.
-Annoying that there's no wireless Apple CarPlay.
-Desperately in need of all wheel steering for obv reasons.
-Wheel choices suck and the fact that the base wheels aren't forged is a disgrace for such a high-end performance-oriented product.
-Off-center camera in the front is annoying
-Ceramic brake pedal feel and stopping power is nothing short of miraculous. So smooth and effortless stopping. And no dreadful squealing yet. Porsches with ceramics sound like city buses when stopping.
-Joy to drive on the highway at very high speeds. Hard to stay under 100mph. A little cumbersome around town and b-roads where you can really feel the heft. Rear wheel steering is essential for such a big boat in the year 2021. I prefer comfort on the highway but Sport or Sport Plus everywhere else's.
-Paint quality is excellent. No paint correction necessary. When I picked up car from dealer I couldn't believe how dirty it was. They honored my request to leave it exactly as it was when it got off the truck. No wash. No detail. To my surprise, Mercedes delivers these cars from the port in open car carriers. Mine looked like it covered 1,000 miles in rain and snow. But when I cleaned it up the paint underneath all that grime was pristine. Didn't notice any imperfections after direct sunlight scrutiny. Not even light scratches or swirl marks. Amazing. The Graphite is an incredible metallic shade if you're into dark grey. I'm used to Porsche's poor paint quality lol.
-Electronics seem very good and intuitive. However, too much for me. I miss simple buttons for functions.
-Love the carbon fiber accents on the exterior. Only option I didn't get on this car was carbon fiber engine cover but would get it too if I built another car.
-No 20" snow tires fit this car properly and this is annoying. However, Mercedes offers low cost 19" package including 10-spoke wheels and Alpins but I'm not certain that they fit on cars equipped with ceramic brakes. Will be ordering to find out for myself. 19" would be a better choice for winter months for me as the roads in CT tend to get very poor and have huge potholes. Smaller diameter makes a lot of sense.
I'd like to acknowledge Prime Motorcars in Scarborough, ME. My buying experience could not have been any better. Thank you Sam Hersom, Jared Young and Michael Ferraro. Ultimate professionals. Highly recommend this dealership.
More details to come as I get through break-in.

I have Michelin PA4 winters in stock 20” sizes on a set of 5 spokes and they were great last winter. The rear 295’s are a bit too wide though because they're “real” 295’s, where the OEM tires are MB M01 spec 295’s, which are narrower than normal 295’s... Why they dont just use standard 285’s or something is beyond me, couldnt make it more confusing. Anyhow, the tires do fit with a bulge but worked well. Tirerack doesnt carry them but they exist, check the Michelin website and your local Michelin shop to get them.
You can click on the various tire sizes to see the specs: https://www.michelinman.com/tires/pi...alpin-pa4.html
Oh, and these are the tires MB provides with their "factory" winter wheel/tire sets, but on a different 19" wheel.
