Engine tune?

Worst case is timing chain slipped or cam phaser hardware not functioning correctly.

Less worse is a faulty crank position sensor or cam position sensor. Or oil in the cam sensor or cam magnet connectors.

pull the cam position sensor and cam magnet connectors and carefully inspect for oil. If none, clear the code and see if it happens again.

If oil is present, replace sensors and magnets. Check ECU connector for oil on pins.

what is the cam magnet? is that the solienoids? because the 2017 e300 has 2 camshaft sensor right smack dab on the top if the engine side by side u cant miss em and its sooo easy to switch which i did i know pretty much about benzes but the code says short circuit aswell so im guessing the problem is with the wiring in the camshaft female connector on bank 1but the wiring harness mounted on top of the engine is one complete assembly so i cant just repair the faulty camshaft connector i gotta replace the whole wiring harness u understand but im gonna take it to the benz dealer tuesday i let u know what it is

Red face Crankshaft position Sensor hidden

Just a heads up. The diagrams of its location is a little tricky. My CLK has the sensor it the same location. However it took me 1 1/2 days to find it. It is almost hidden way down on the bell housing & very tight space next to the firewall. I had to remove the MAF ( even with very small hands). I took the wrong sensor off initially ( INTAKE MANIFOLD TEMPERATURE SENSOR). It is above it & seems like the diagram location lol. Finally locating it…it took me 2 hours of wrenching because the space was so tight I couldn’t turn my hands to break the screw.
All done, it solved my Code P0335. Now it starts without any hesitation & doesn’t die. Check engine light went off for a day. On again with another code. Getting ready for my next fix.
