My salesguy gave me the dealerships that got the 10 2023 Wagon allocations: (all the remaining engines will go into sedans per him)

I was in discussion with the GM of one of the 10 back in December. He wanted $25k over, and insisted on a Magno paint (among other specs). Said he wanted to maximize profit if I backed out of the order. I can't stand matte paint so I let it go.

I like matte paint, but I am turned off by their greediness. Would rather go to BMW.

As far as the M5 Touring... I'm curious too. But not likely to jump to it. And how frustrating that at the "end of the era of ICE" that the US market would finally have access to the three greatest wagons ever made. Also interested if the M3 Touring comes to the US. Perhaps the wife would swap for her SUV.

Priced too high even without markup. Mercedes wants to capture everything. Good for them. Superb automobile but, to me, 100% not worth price of entry. At height of automotive bubble these were barely selling for this amount. Purely subjective, of course. I'd look for a lightly used one...

Does this make my “final edition” of the 2013 rwd wagon that was 1 of 59 worth 200k now. I’m only joking of course but 150 wagons is quite a nice chunk considering the speculations of fewer.
Good luck and congrats to those of you fortunate enough to play. Imo the best car in recent decades.

I went on and built up something very close to my '19 and somehow the price is $10k higher. No carbon fiber, but all the other options, just like mine.
I called my local dealer (Greenwich CT) and the GM said "don't sell your '19 as we are sold-out for the next 1-2yrs". Perhaps he didn't understand my question, or realize this is the last year for it... I've never been happy with the AMG experience at the Greenwich location, and now I guess it doesn't matter. I would like to get a "last of the run", but I love the sport seats in mine, as well as the IWC clock.
Good luck gents... those who actually get a '23 will be exceedingly lucky!

Last night I recognized a W213 wagon on the highway that still had the license plate frame from the used car lot that was selling it last month with full original factory warranty. I passed on this exact low mileage one-owner car because the used car lot (which is practically next to the dealer) would not let me get it inspected and verified for extended warranty by the dealer. They wanted me to buy the car THEN take it to the dealer for the inspection and warranty. No thank you.
It looked really nice.
I was at my dealer a few weeks ago, there was a low mileage G63 about $100k less then they were asking for half a year ago (not the same one). My wife is looking and my sales guy walked over, said hi, showed me the G and didn't say a word about my order. I didn't bring it up either.
I'm not saying, calling, or asking anything about it. Next person that talks loses.
