It has the exact same options I would have gotten (outside of the color - I wanted Nautical Blue outside). As you said, looks like too good to be true, but if you can get it, all the power to you. Seems perfectly optioned.

I have a W212 Diamond White E63... that color never gets old.

Beautiful color. Very elegant in nautical blue! White wouldn’t have been my first choice a few years ago but it’s grown on me. It would also be a debadged daily for wife and I to drive daily so a bit of a cloak isn’t bad. Albeit know you can’t fully hide the mongrel (nor would you want to).

I’d paid a deposit on Friday but was starting to get cold shivers. I’ve been on these boards for a long time researching and would kick myself if I didn’t at least ask if someone saw it fall off a ramp in Baltimore while walking their dog.

Interestingly wasn’t on the list of cars at dealer that was going around a few months ago.

What is a "stop call"? Car looks used (debris in the side air intakes). How many miles on it?

Apologies, meant stop sale. Needs a fuel pump as part of that recall from last year.

14 miles so car is new. Unhappily it is sitting on a pad outdoors. Maybe seeing some fall colors inside the air intake which isn’t where you’d want to spot them on a new car but it will see worse.

The recall was in June, 2023. Parts were available starting in October. Seems like a long time to get the replacement fuel pump installed.

I'd inquire if the car was "punched," or registered. The dealership usually does that to avoid getting future allocations deducted for failure to sell. If so, the punch date starts the warranty period. You can use this knowledge to negotiate a deal on an extended warranty.

Thanks and good shout. They’d previously said it hasn’t been registered but will certainly double check.

On fuel fix, agree it does sound odd. Know it’s been pushed once on them. Supposed to be done Feb 6.

My car was delivered today! 2023 model in selenite grey. It had 400 miles on the clock, so I just put another 40 on going up the M1, testing the stereo and cruise control. Got to break that engine in!

I absolutely love it - just stunning in every respect. Handling is so sharp for a huge estate; the cabin is beautiful and the car even played my FLACS off USB with no problem, including navigation by artist etc (maybe I have EAC to thank for its tagging habits - not sure). Not all of the album art works, even though it's all the same format (saved as cover.jpg in the album folder), which is odd, but hardly the end of the world, and lots of it does work. The Burmeister sounds fantastic; I think I prefer it to the B&O in my outgoing Audi, which sounded really great and smooth but was quite polite - the Burmeister has just as much detail but is a bit more engaging. I found myself impelled to sing along.

Still getting to grips with the settings etc but it's not as complex as I'd thought it might be. Ambient lighting went purple while driving even though it was set to red - assume that's something to do with the multi-colour settings cycling through or something.

Looking forward to getting further acquainted with it. What a car.

Congratulations!!! Great choice IMO. Enjoy discovering the many, many thoughtful features and engineering that are part of these cars. The more I discover, the more I appreciate all the thoughts that go into the "unspoken" things.

Like one of my personal favorites: While stopped at a traffic signal, give the brake pedal a firm stab and "HOLD" will pop on the instrument cluster, let your foot off and the car will stay put with the brake lights on until you hit the throttle.

Enjoy!

Nice tip, thanks!

Yes, the thoughtfulness of the design is great, from my skin-deep experience. Wanted to go for a cheeky night time drive, but I'm so exhausted it's probably not the best idea. I just spent 10 minutes sitting in it farting around with the interface instead.

OK, got a question I haven't been able to find a definitive answer for:

What is the point of the user profiles? Under my profile I can set up to three seat positions, so let's say the second one is for my wife. Presumably she can connect her mobile phone via my user profile also.

So what would be the point of her having her own user profile?

Connected to that, are the seat positions linked to profiles? Like, if she had a profile, would seating position one be different on it than under my profile?

Profile remembers all personalized settings in the car, Seats, steering wheel, mirrors, radio favorites, ambient light settings.

Swapping between profiles manually on the screen is kind of useless, as it's easier to just adjust the seat and mirrors. The real magic is when you and your wife use dedicated keys with your dedicated profile assigned to that key. That way when you unlock and enter the car with your key (or her key) the seat and mirrors automatically go to where that key-owner would want them.

Nice. How do I assign a profile to my wife's key? Just enter and start the car with her fob when setting up her profile?

The feature was discontinued for the FL E63S.

Oh. Never mind.

I learned there are decent advantages to having two profiles, so that's good.

I think I got this dailed in. Sound is so much better. I also put the fade to -5 (rear based) almost right behind the front seats.

Received a call from selling dealer saying MB pushed fix for this vehicle’s VIN to June. Apparently the way it works is MB green lights the fix by vehicle VIN and only then, can the fuel pump be swapped in and that vehicle sold. It’s a known recall and a known and widely implemented fix, so the hold-up is purely administrative.

Don’t suppose anyone has a phone number for MB or knows a sympathetic ear there that can push some paper.

Having an e63s caged up in a dealership like this is animal cruelty.

I've done 540 miles since delivery a week ago - now up to 940 miles. Giving it a few more revs and letting it drop gears a bit more now, though still below 4,500 rpm and no proper kickdowns yet. Not long before I start opening her up properly.

I've been enjoying the stereo at basically neutral setting, with bass boosted to 1 or 2. I find it sounds nice with quite a lot of different music, but I have at times had thoughts it could do with more of a kick. Your settings look like they'd provide something along those lines, though I'm normally pretty conservative with EQ'ing.

Question: should my 2023 E63S estate have the augmented reality view in the satnav? It doesn't appear to, and the reading I've done suggests it should be standard but I can't confirm it. Would be good to know whether it's an error that it's not there before I go speaking to Mercedes.

Not sure what country you are ... In Canada, the MBUX augmented reality for navigation is standard. I recalled the FY2021 model was also standard but due to chips shortage, this feature was largely removed on most builds and people was not informed at all and had to go back to dealer and ask for some sort of compensation.

I'm in the UK and the car is a 2023 model. From what you're saying it sounds like it should be there?

I think so ... if your MB UK online website configurator does not have option package that will add this feature on ... then, it should be a standard equipment.

Try typing in your VIN here and look for U19 Augmented reality video:
https://mb.vin/

(P.S. I never click "submit" or any links on that page. All clicks seems to go to click bait and paid vin research sites and I get lost in SPAM. Just look for and first click the "I am not a robot" checkbox, then click in the VIN typing box, type in the VIN and press [enter])

And what bobblehead said - some cars just didn't get it due to chip shortages. If your VIN doesn't list U19 you don't have it.
