Above budget? AMG carbon-ceramic brake kit
Well, the owner of this W213 E63 AMG is certainly among the few people who personally appreciate the advantages of this part.
The kit adopts a 6 POT design for the front, 1 POT for the rear, and comes with larger, gold-painted calipers and 2-piece ceramic floating discs (402mm front and 360mm rear).
This is the highest level setup for the original E63, by the way, and to list a couple of its fully fledged features:
- wear resistant (long lasting)
- temperature resistant (1830°C)
- extremely lightweight
- minimal amount of braking dust
Enjoy the installation photos, I know I did!
Thank you.
QUOTE=iCARMIX;8835526]If there’s any upgrade considered unnecessarily expensive by a lot of people, and only appreciated by a few, this is it, the original AMG carbon-ceramic brake system.

I did this to my W212 and it was the best thing ever:
https://mbworld.org/forums/w212-amg/...t-numbers.html
And I wouldn't take delivery of my W213 unless it had ceramics. I had to cancel my original order since the factory didn't have CCB available when my car went through.
Nice kit! Nice job!
On a related note,
doing some massive amount of research, the E63s ccb are an odd size as they are bigger than most everything else or smaller.
I have not found any other car to use a 402mm size rotor. Closest was a 400mm and then it jumps to 420mm on the tesla.
The vettes use a 393mm rotor which coincidentally the GT-R folks found out is a perfect fit in thier car.
The W213 E63s does not have that luxury.
The good news is, my E63s has 131k miles and the CCB rotors are ok. I just replaced the pads as i head some odd noises. The fronts had some more life left. One of the rear rotors shows wear but not enough to replace (the wear indicator is still ok). My guess is that the rears do lots of work for lane assist etc.

Spec'd my car with the CCBs from the factory and have been very happy with them. Virtually no brake dust.
Haven't tracked my car yet though I keep saying one day I will so can't speak to fading. Have done some serious mountain / canyon carving with it and never had any fading issues on the street.
