AMG e63S W213
2018 E63S brake replacement
Hey AMG enthusiasts,
I'm looking to get my front and back rotors and pads brakes changed ASAP, However, I'm hoping to find the most cost-effective solution as the dealership prices seem exorbitant. Can anyone share their experiences and suggest alternative options that won't break the bank? I'm assuming not everyone here is paying $5K USD at their local Mercedes-Benz dealership because that sounds outrageous. I live in San Francisco BAY Area, CA Any advice or recommendations for shop would be greatly appreciated!
PS;
I understand FCP Euro has Brembo Brakes which are much cheaper than OEM Brakes but still want to ask the community if their other options out there.
Thanks!

At this point we are just repeating what's been said multiple times in several AMG brake threads around here. Please do a search. This topic has been discussed multiple times with the same recommendations to source parts through FCP Euro and take advantage of their lifetime replacement warranty.

Just went through the same situation. Dealer wanted 6k for the rotors only.
I went with the RENNtech front rotors and Porterfield R4S pads. The RENNtech are not cross drilled, only slotted for better longevity of rotors and pads with decreased risk of cracks. Performance should be better than stock.

I posted a write up for the CCB pads here..

In both, the wheel hanger pins are a must but definitely needed in the CCB as they will chip if the wheel touches the edges.

I recently did the fronts and went with stock (because I didn't read up on it) . . . the rear's are due soon as well and I was wondering if there is any issues with doing the aftermarket rears only, running stock fronts til next replacement is necessary and then go aftermarket on front as well . . . ? Doesn't seem like it would be an issue but just thought I'll throw it out there . . .

I’m running OEM rear rotors without any issues. RENNtech doesn’t sell rear rotors as the front do so much of the braking (massive 6 piston front calipers and single piston rear).

makes total sense and good to know! Stock for rear then it is and looking forward to RENNtech front next . . .

wonder what the reason or justification is for that fact . . .

The options here are not grea for the 63's, but I've used the site for ten years or so and as a base reference it is great for pricing parts like these.
Full set of excellent Dynamic 5000 rotors and pads for 2010 Jag XFR were under $600 and I'm very happy with them.
