Michelin PS A/S 4. I had that 2x. But I did not use these for my winter as I used Michelin PA 5 (square setup on 19")

Thanks, that's what I looked up here. In a perfect world I'd prefer not to buy another set of wheels. If the PS A/S can handle downstate NY winters, that's probably how I'll go. Need to research a little more.

Yeah, those all seasons.

I had a set of winters on my last car and it was a bit overkill for New York City where it's flat and they grit the roads. Now I'm in Connecticut and my wife's SUV has no problem in winter with all seasons, and we have a crazy steep drive way.

I think you'll be ok on all seasons 95% of the time and when the weather is really extreme, just don't drive in it if you can avoid it. I never really leave the house when it's bucketing down snow or it's very icy

You could swap over just the winter tires if you want with a higher side wall if you you want to have access to the car 100% of the time in winter. most tire shops will store your summers for a small fee

I drive a lot on the north shore of long island. Lots of hills and roads where the plowing is hit or miss. My dealer (no surprise) recommends the dedicated winter setup.

In that scenario then maybe you do need the winters, but no way I’d pay 6/7 grand for the OEM set up. 2 grand on tires, swap them over in November/April. Job done

I hear that, but then I'm back to the fact that no one makes winters that fit our wheels. Best I could would be larger sidewalls and speedometer shenanigans.

Maybe all seasons then is the way to go and be done with it.

It could be the case that the size is not available in July, but will be when the seasons change? I don’t know why they wouldn’t offer it.

In any case, It’s a very minor difference between a 35 and 45 side wall. That’s about half an inch of side wall

Just searched some old threads and there was guys putting winters in 20' in the OEM sizes on the car last year. It must be a seasonal thing that they're not available right now

Edit: Looks like our size is on backorder everywhere, if they're even being made any more. I hate to wait until the last minute to get this taken care of, but I guess I gotta keep checking back to see if I can get them.

Try a specialist tire center, not Tire rack online. They will order them for you I bet. I had a hard-to-find tire for my other car, that I couldn't get it online, but an old fashioned phone call did the trick and they had it in 3 days

I don't think anyone has mentioned to look at online selling platforms like Kijiji, Marketplace or Craigslist. I picked up a mint used 19" factory set for just over $2000 Canadian with around 1/2 tread life left. I bought them when I bought the car but still have not used them as I haven't used the car in the winter. There may be more sets becoming available as peoples leases run out on the 2021 models.

Updating to say that I've checked with all my locals, no one is able to get the Pirellis right now. They advised to check back in a month or so, and to refresh tirerack et al. every week at least...as soon as they show stock there, the locals can order as well. I hate waiting to the last minute to handle something like this, but I feel like the dealer can set me up square on 19s without much notice, so I don't think another month will hurt.

I got Pilot Alpin PA5's @ 265/40R20 MO1 BSW and 295/35R20 MO1 BSW. I can try to find the specific Michelin tire #'s if anyone needs em. Not sure if I have them recorded but I might.
