2018 Model 213 Mercedes service intervals specification (APOO.20-U-1208DN)

I OCRed the file so you can word search it.
APOO.20-U-1208DN -- SERVICE SHEET for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance System (USA)

Missing on the MB interval list is front differential. Mercedes is selling service packages. The Basic package cites Rear and Front Differential. When I dropped off the car, my service rep said his lead tech recommended doing the Front with the Rear. Later, he then texted me and said the tech highlighted that the Front differential requires removing an axle, so it becomes a $1k item. (!) Since I only have 11k miles on the car, we agreed to skip. Everything on my vehicle timed out except engine oil, which was at 10k miles. I'll change my engine oil at 5k (my general rule... twice as often as mfr recommendation), although I suspect I'll time out on that as well.

I don't really believe this no maintenance item concept if you plan to keep the car for a long time. Not yet time for me to do anything with the E63 tranny but on my 10 yr old CLS, 57k miles, with the 722.9 tranny, I just did a full trans service at an independent mech - parts and labor ran about $400 all in using an FCP kit. Just peace of mind that your tranny fluid is not more than 10 years old. Was quoted high 600s to 700 area at another Merc specialist shop, not dealer. For the E63 based on the quote @SerottaD got for front and rear at a dealer, $1000 seems not too bad.

@PeterUbers That's a great thread. Covers the bases.
Since I mentioned the Basic service package, I thought I'd attach a PDF of the flyer I was given. (I made it a PDF since attaching JPG embeds in-line and makes these threads terrible reading.) The attachment is relevant because it's the only MB documentation I've seen that shows the Front Diff service as a scheduled item. I agree that for a high performance vehicle, this can't possibly be a forever item. The operating duty would seem similar to the Rear Diff, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
