Bi-X: W203/CL203 OEM Bi-XENON Upgrade, Auto-Levelling & Programming thread
is it available as an option to order?
has anyone checked whether it will fit 2002 cars?
has anyone checked if we can organise a group buy?
It will fit 2002 cars, but the 2002 cars do not have the proper wiring harness to make the auto-leveling system work. Some members have already installed them on their sedans. Do a search.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Mike "bagwell" has done it. According to him, its a plug and play job. Maybe you can send him a PM or e-mail.
I changed mine from regular Xenon to bi-xenon, its also a plug and play for me.
Since you upgraded from regular xenon to bi-xenon, is self leveling feature still works fine?
Thanks.

To uncloud the mystery, it is basically a potentiometer attached to the front sway bar, and one attached to the rear frame that measures the cars "squat" forward and rear. There is no reason that this same OEM stuff couldn't be added, it certainly isn't complicated.
If I was going from Halogen to either Xenon model, I might check the price of the MBZ harness, if it was more than $100, I would either just set them manually (kind of like every other car on the road), or if I wanted to tweak it, I would make a dial that worked from the drivers seat.
You might say that the self-leveling is a nice feature, but when it comes to value, how much would one pay for it?
Lynn are you saying that it is not a good idea for a "business" such as EvoSport to be in the business of installing HID's, but it is fine for Mach430?
I took several pictures that can be found on the following pages:
page 1 with 203 Bi Xenon pics
page 2 with 203 Bi Xenon pics
As you can see on the pictures, the reflectors are attached to the housing with 3 balljoint connections; THESE CONNECTIONS MAY GET LOOSE IN TRANSIT due to dropping/throwing of the box.
I mailed with bagwell abou this and he thinks this is his problem as well. I mailed with yukpo and this was also exactly what his problem was and he solved it.
xraverone, please have a look at the pictures and see if your problem is caused by loose balljoints as well...if so: it is easy to repair.
box996 had a piece broken out of 1 reflector that was caused by throwing/dropping the box for sure...I think I found the solution how to prevent that from future shipped lights. He shipped back his broken light and will be getting a replacement light from me.
Most of the loose reflector problems probably are caused by loose balljoints...that is how most lights (all models) from the MB dealership come as well (when ordered as replacement lights).
The lights I had are all rejected headlights due to damaged housings, scratched lenses, damaged connectors, loose balljoints, whatever else there is wrong with the lights.
greetingz,

Both Xenon and B-Xenon use an automatic self-leveling system, I am sure it is the same hardware and harness.

I am saying that the the potential penalties to a business which install HID's will be much larger than the penalties to consumer who does so, assuming that what I think I read in the DOT regulations is correct. It would be cheaper for Evosport to consult an attorney before installing HID's in a customers car than the pay the fine afterward, if it is actually illegal for a business to install HID's.
I have been searching all morning for the reg, and I can't find it.
they'll still work without the reset...just have to turn the lites on 10 secs before the ignition
I am curious at how quickly the high beams illuminate when using the flash to pass feature as compared to hallogens.
I use that alot ;-)

It does not have 2 Xenon bulbs, but has 1 Halogen high beam bulb and switching reflecting plate at the 1 and only low beam Xenon bulb.
greetingz,
High beam is just the simple regukar Halogen bulb in the inner circle of the headlight...Bi Xenon means that the headlight has a reflecting plate that gets switched over when changing from low beam to high beam and back...it just redirects the beam pattern of the low beam Xenon bulb a bit.

greetingz,
However we should first get a part number and try to see which MB dealers or parts store (Autoclass, bekkers) will be interested in this buy
