I'm not sure if Euro Bi-x is setup any different from the US bi-x, however, I do know that there is a secondary high beam on the bi-x which is a halogen bulb. The way the bi-x works is, yes the High beam is controlled by a mirror for the xenon portion of the lighting, however, the halogen high beam also turns on when you turn the high beam on. So in essence, you have the beam pattern that changes on the projector xenons and you also have the halogen high-beam working simultaneously. I think the main purpose of the halogen high-beam in the bi-x setup is for the flashing purpose, however, it stays on when you turn the high beams on.

To answer your initial question, the halogen high beam should be a 1/4 twist just like the parking wedge bulb. It also should be behind the same cover as you would remove to change the parking bulb. This is also assuming that the Euro Bi-x setup is similar/the same to the US.

I tried twisting it but nothing was happening. Also before i tried to twist it, there was a plug that i had to removed. It seemed like an electricity connection. Well ill take pics tomorrow.

Once you take pics, it'll be easier to evaluate, but from the sounds of it, that is the actual bi-x connection. There should be 2 covers on each headlamp assembly. The cover you need to be taking off/going through is the inside cover (same one as the parking bulb. Lemme go outside and take some pics that'll help a little.

Okay, so I circled the cover that you have to open in order to get to the halogen high beam in bi-x.

I also circled where the high beam bulb is on the headlamp assembly.

You are looking at the correct place, but it's been so long since I replaced that bulb, that I'm trying to remember exactly how the bulb comes out.

If memory serves me correct, I think you squeeze on the top and bottom portion of the (black surround) and twist quarter turn to the left (lefty loosey, righty tighty). I may be wrong about the squeezing, but I know it was a twist out bulb replacement.

i went through the same hassel. just ask them if they can get a tech to do it during his lunch break and of course you will pay for it. also, mention it flickers on and off so it's a hazard to drive without the proper setting at night.
good luck.

Xenon = present can be set at any time before lamps are installed. I have had it coded for quite some time and nothing appears to indicate it is wrong or incorrect.

Your service advisor isn't very nice. Threaten him/her that you'll switch to another dealership or service advisor.

Well, Southbay Mercedes is a sponsor on here and they're in Torrance. Maybe you'll have some luck there.

Ouch, mine was only $40CAD. The cheapest way is to tell the SA you need your "headlights reaimed".

I concur with this. And it goes for anything you change.

One of the dealerships I go to (and no longer go to) actually told me that if something goes wrong with my door locking mechanism, my warranty will be voided because of the custom door pin surrounds I have on there! I couldn't believe they were being so petty. I'm not worried because there is so much clearance on the pins that it wouldn't be a problem, but the SA was actually giving me that tone of voice like I was some young punk. Hence, I made my decision to only go to one dealership all the time (to build good rapport).
