The HID's Present setting takes care of both low and high beams. With the bi-xenon projectors, the H7 bulbs in the original high beam position in the small lenses are used for the flash to pass function.

Ohh...well I don't flash anybody anymore...when I had those fake HID bulbs I determined that when you flash your light it causes them to blow out earlier. Almost everytime I would flash my lights approx. 2 days later my headlights would be dead. So after about 10 pairs of bulbs I learned not to flash. I never said that I would put HID's in all of them, I just said that for the price I could get three sets.

I think at the most I would do would be put HIDs in the lows and high's(if i had bi-xenon), But if I dont have bi-xenon i would HID the lows and put phillips vision bulbs in the highs and fogs.

Okay, this may be a stupid question to some...but not to me...is the only difference between the Bi-xenons and the HID kits the mirror delflectors? The way I see it is the only difference is the bi-xenons have a single bulb HID that has a deflector to change between high and low beam....and the HID kits require you to have two sets of HIDs if you want high and low. Other than that the bulbs are the same.

Isn't it true that the stock H7 bulb is used for Low & High beam?

So, if you upgrade to HID's you'd be losing your flash/pass option as well as your High beams, this is what i've been told.

Timmyc230boy, you said....
"If I dont have bi-xenon i would HID the lows and put phillips vision bulbs in the highs and fogs."

How can you have HID in the low beams & some other bulb for the high beams if they share the same one bulb, which is the H7. Is there something i'm overlooking. If what i've heard is true than i don't want to lose my flash / high beams. The only option would be to purchase the OE HID's so that we can maintain the flash/high beams.

Please inform....
thanks all

I don't believe these are even available thru normal dealers or autoclasse or anywhere....I would wait to organize a group buy until they are located.

HID kits upgrade each individual bulb. One kit contains two balasts...one for each low beam bulb. Your high beams are two separate bulbs. If you want to upgrade those you need an additional HID kit. Most people just buy one kit for the low beams and just upgrade the high beams to the aftermarket halogen h7s like the philips plus vision...it makes sense to do it this way coz most people don;t use the high beams that much.

GC2TONE32: Yes, the Bi-xenons only use 2 bulb. I dont think I will upgrade to bi-xenon light assembleys. I use my highbeams alot, my parents cars both have HIDs, I rarely use the highbeams in them when I drive. I would just keep my current light assembley, get HIDs for the low beams and then either keep my highs and fogs stock, or get some aftermarket bulbs for them.

If you have the bi-xenon assembley like bagwell, you have a regular halogen bulb in the assembley for a flash to pass. I guess the computer looks at how long the high beam has been on and them it starts moving the mirror to throw some light out the highbeam side? am I right?

I understand completely now. A friend of mine just put in Hyperwhite bulbs in his headlights & will be also replacing the city/parking light with the same bulbs very soon. It looks a bit ugly that the headlight emits a bluish light and the parking lights right next to it emits a regular white light, so we'll post pics of the C230 coupe with all 4 lights with Hyperwhites soon. Thanks for all the info

All 2003's with bi-xenons have projector style reflectors. The projector type headlights use the reflector to focus and control the beam pattern, so they don't need the fluted lenses. All projector headlights, HID or halogen, have clear lenses, and all non-projector headlights, HID, halogen, or sealed beam, have fluted lenses to control the beam pattern.

Questions???

Hi,

I am unclear about the whole bi-xenon kit thing...

Do you guys have the whole headlight assembly? The ones that come with the '03 models? projector type? Or are these just bulbs?

Is this bi-xenon kit a plug and play for C320's with standard halogen headlights? How about wiring?

And do any of you with this kit live in the bay area? I am very interested on converting and would like to see an actual conversion myself.

Hope you guys can help. Thanks.

the coupe's shape is slightly different. more of a sharp indent. so they're not interchangeable.
