!!! LETMotorsports C32 Twin Turbo Project !!!
thought you guys might like to get an idea of our next project...
here are a couple of teaser pics...
this will be a true twin turbo setup with no supercharger!
go ahead, ask some questions, they are expected...we will be updating this thread with info as we move through the project...

it typically takes anywhere from 50-80 hp just to drive the supercharger on a car with our power level...so imagine gaining that much power just from losing the supercharger...
from there, it will be a simple matter of tuning to extract all the power that the car is capable of...

430-450 to the wheels should be expected.
We are not going to reveal all of the details yet, but we will soon.
We will be doing the project on both my C32 and Ericks C32.

i wish i had an idea on pricing, but at this point there is no way to tell, mainly because there are a couple of parts that will have to be custom fabricated, one of them being the exhaust manifolds...
as we move through the project, i will have a better idea and let you guys know as soon as we know what the kit will cost...

manifold. Individual TB or Six TB's? Position of the IAT and MAP, etc...etc...
Thanks for the wet dream, now I won't be able to sleep for months

Well, it isn't going to be a super PITA. We are going to keep the supercharger in place, so there will be no need for a custom / C320 intake manifold.
Imagine a gutted supercharger with twin turbos. We will also leave the stock IC in place, and possibly cool the charge twice.
Erick is going to manage the turbo manifolds.
I'm going to head up the Intercooler fitment and tubing placement.
As of now, I don't think we will need a new MAP sensor or IAT sensor. If we can get 18 - 20 PSI without spinning the SC, then we should be set. The ECU won't know the supercharger isn't providing the boost, nor does it matter, as long as the right amount of boost is present. The SC clutch will need to stay in place or else the tranny won't allow the car to shift.
Hopefully, it will be a straight forward project that won't require cutting the firewall.
Issues we face as of now:
1. Drivers side turbo
2. Placement of the turbos
3. Which turbos are best
4. Oil cooler might be needed
5. Fog lights might have to go
I don't forsee any issues with the ECU. I doubt we will be able to keep the engine bay looking stock...but we will try.
The main reason I'm going for this project with Erick is because our cars are different. I have ported heads and cams, which could vary the results either way, considering my last project was a failure in some eyes. Secondly, and most important, our cars are almost worthless now. I can't imagine getting $14k for my car. I would rather gut the car and make her a dedicated track car in the future....who knows...maybe moving to Houston is in my future.

but to answer the question about installation, it will not be for the faint of heart...you will need to be very comfortable tearing apart half of your car...otherwise you will need to leave it to the professionals

Cant wait to see it done... even though its quite some time away.
Any idea on how much power the trans can take... They already have issues with jerking and what not?

Which turbos are you guys considering, if you don't mind indulging inquiring minds? And would it be twin sequential TCs or bi-turbo? Any significant changes planned to the engine's compression?

also, i am unsure on the actual turbos right now, been doing lots of research looking at compressor maps trying to determine optimal sizing for quick spooling properties without sacrificing too much top end power...any input hear is welcome

The GT Series turbos are a great place to concentrate your search. The ball bearing bearings help the turbo spin up quickly without a loss at the top end. Been a long time since I looked at turbo's but if I had to dredge my memory I would probably start with the GT28's.
Also keep in mind that exhaust diameter is going to impact how quickly the turbo's spool up.
"Gutting" the SC and using it as the intake manifold certainly makes things easier.
Cool project I am very interested in seeing the progress..

This sounds like a really interesting project, guys - wish you luck with it. Sounds like most of the gains will come from just losing the parasitic drag caused by the S/C (I didn't realize that could be as much as 80hp... ouch), and by keeping total charge psi roughly the same as you're running now with modded pullies, you simplify the project a bit (and avoid some headaches I'm sure) by not having to swap out lower compression pistons, beefed up internals, etc. Pretty exciting stuff... can't wait to see the results. Most importantly, have fun!

Thanks man!
It will be nice to be able to adjust boost as needed for once.

Man that's gonna be a fantastic project. I feel you guys are being very modest with the whp #'s though.
I'm looking forward to seeing the progress and good luck with this project.
I think the car is going to be a BEAST with way more hp than you predict like HPF's stck motored turbocharged E46 M3.
If they can put out 700+hp out to the wheels I can see you guys starting out with 5 to 600whp just to start.
Keep up the good wrk and good luck!

yeah that set up will really put you guys on the MAP.
But ahh.. you feel if that set up was designed for C32 with minor adjustments it can be swapped in our 55?-
