Lighter weight wheels and/or rotor performance benefits?
has anyone that has gotten lighter wheels, tires or rotors really noticed a performance benefit?
thanks

Light rotors help the car feel more snappy when you launch and mash the throttle. The car does feel like weight is freed up.
I can only imagine that light rotors + light wheels would make for an obvious difference in feel.

2 piece lightweight rotors= 40# reduction
F14's= 20# reduction
DOT Slicks= 16# reduction
Can you tell a difference? Oh yeah
From another perspective, I have a road bike that weighs just under 16lbs that I spend a great deal of time on. I recently bought a set of carbon fiber Easton wheels that were 340 grams lighter than the originals. The difference is like before and after tuning a C63! Same principle applies regarding rotational mass or in the cycling world it's " dynamic weight".

Any reduction in unsprung weight esp rotational mass is a benefit. You might feel a bit more snap but the real gains come when pushed hard in track conditions. Less brake fade and fluid overheating as the brakes don't have to work as hard. Your rotors and pad will last longer under normal usage as they have less weight to stop. The only caution is on lighter weight wheels there is the point of dimishing return. As the wheels get to light they have a difficult time dealing with normal street driving.

I have never felt like the car was "faster" with lighter wheels but on the M3 I definitely noticed it in how the suspension reacted to road surface... the car felt more planted and the suspension dealt with pavement irregularities easier without unsettling the chassis.

As far as acceleration, well let us just say I would LOVE to have the same car/driver/set up/tires, etc, do 3 passes, and then put on lighter rotors/rims, and make 3 passes. It will not be much
And as was stated above, those lovely light weight rims, won't stand a chance on our ****ty roads in PA

Years ago, I swapped heavy cast wheels for SSR Competitions (super light wheels 17 lbs.?) on a 1998 GS400 Lexus and the difference was remarkable. It did seem to improve acceleration as it matched an older BMW M3 that should have gotten away from it on a few roll on pulls we did.
How much $ are the light rotors?

I have P31 so i already have the light weight two piece rotors. not sure what they weigh compared to these though.

From p31 cars and regular c63.
From my 1st hand experience I did rotors and rims same time and it was very noticeable.
