C63 AMG vs Porsche 911 Turbo: Noise vs Precision

c63 drag race

The outgoing Mercedes C63 AMG is an absolute monster of a car. It’s naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 engine makes for one of the most brutal sounding motors ever built. However, the C63 is really nothing more than a four door luxury muscle car. Sure, it has the potential to become ludicrously fast, but at the same time, what it does best is make noise and kill tires. You wouldn’t expect it to smoke a properly built supercar now would you? Nope, but it definitely comes close.

What we have here is a drag race between a C63 and a Porsche 911 Turbo. The Porsche is a $200,000 supercar. It has all-wheel drive, a flat-six cylinder turbocharged engine, and decades of engineering behind it. The C63 is a big and heavy muscle car. It only drives the rear wheels, which definitely gives it a disadvantage. Or at least it did before the owner of this C63 took the car to Weistec and tuned the motor to produce over 700 horsepower to the wheels.

Watch as this C63 puts up a valiant effort. But in the end, it just can’t beat the Porsche. However, who cares? The C63 sounds ten times better regardless.
