If you’re like me, your abode is in a direct path with snow storms each and every winter. I brave the Mid-West’s sub-zero assault on all animate objects by being prepared, and you’ll be able to do the same with a few choice hints in the video below from Car Throttle.

As you might expect, it’s mostly concerned about what happens when things go wrong, or basically, getting stuck. But there’s also advice for when you have to park your car outside with an ice storm, and also interesting ways to find traction in all sorts of places. From the use of old carpet remnants, to fluffy wool socks, to the age-old trick of kitty litter, and even the use of shaving cream, you’ll find eight handy hacks to make life easier in the cold temps.

Even for the folks that like to have their Mercedes hibernate over winter, it’s always nice to return to a car that’s ready to go from the moment you hop in. Those tips and more can be found in the entertaining video below.
