This “Silver Surfer” C400 Has an Amazing Liquid Wrap

Liquid wrap is a new thing to me, which took me by surprise because I’ve always thought I stayed on top of a good majority of automotive trends. This one, however, escaped me. But now that I’ve found it, I’m not about to let it go, because it is cooler than the rock-solid frozen mess of unidentifiable food at the back of your freezer.

Liquid wrap applies like paint, but peels like a dip. This brings two big advantages: for one, the application process has no creases like a traditional wrap. And secondly, if you want to remove it, you just pull it off. Consider me stunned. For a prime example, one of our forum members has just liquid wrapped his W205 C400 sedan, and it looks amazing. Actually, it looks like a factory job (which is about the highest compliment and praise I can give it).

The owner, who goes by the forum name “angeloxnet,” calls it “Silver Surfer” and also claims that it can be driven through a car wash just fine, though he would only recommend the brush-less type. You can also wax and buff just like a traditional paint — if it is a clear version of the liquid wrap, though angeloxnet’s matte finish prohibits that. Still, you have to admit, this is pretty sweet.
