Brabus Turns Maybach Into 900-Horsepower Beast

Who says you can’t have the peak of luxury with the peak of performance?

For people who own a Maybach S650, they’re obviously looking for something that’s at the top of the list for luxury. These are people for whom normal luxury vehicles just aren’t enough. They need something extra. Well, if you’re one of those people, but also want a car that can do 0-60 in well under 4 seconds, Brabus has you covered.

Meet the Brabus 900. The 900 is what happens when you take the Maybach S650 and pump it full of steroids. Sure, you’re going to get the luxury and opulence that you would expect from such an amazing vehicle, but you’re also going to get a beast of a car. Brabus has taken the standard 6.0-liter V12 from the S650 and beefed it up to a 6.3-liter V12. Adding to the extra muscle is a variety of aftermarket performance upgrades. Oh yeah, and there’s turbos. Let’s also not forget the special exhaust manifolds and stainless steel high performance Brabus exhaust.

All told, this new beast of a luxury vehicle is bumped up to 900 horsepower and 1,106 pound-feet of torque. What does that come out to in overall speed? This Brabus 900 can reach a top speed of 217 mph and do 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. Not too shabby for a heavy, big sedan.

For those that want something a little smaller, Brabus has you covered as well. They’re also making the new Brabus B40-700, by taking a Mercedes S 63 and giving it 700 horsepower and 701 pound-feet of torque. Not quite as impressive as the Brabus 900, but then again, we all can’t have stupid fast Maybachs in our driveway.

But hey, if you’re in the market for a performance vehicle the cost of a nice home, then Brabus is the car for you. If you’re like the rest of us, and won’t be lining up to buy one, the pretty pictures will have to do.
