Evotech’s E63 AMG Drag Races BMW and Porsche at Moscow Mile

The E-Class is not a race car. No one looks at Mercedes’ line-up and says “you know, the E-Class is the perfect platform for a track toy.” And yet, here we are with another souped up E-Class that’s more than capable of burning down the drag strip. Not that we’re complaining, of course. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having 730hp in a luxury sedan. At all.

Though, the challengers in this race are a little odd. We’d anticipate the M5 or the S6 to be worthy opponents, but instead we get the X5M and the X6M. They’re heavyweights. It’s not like the E63 is exactly light, but it certainly isn’t in the same class as those guys. We’d get bored if everything had to “make sense” all the time. If that was the case then we wouldn’t have SLSs catching golf balls, or old Mercs doing burnouts in the street.
