Star Diagnostic How To DIY with lots o pics
Thanks! You are right in that I am looking into it but Dallas, while not as hot as your locale, can get pretty warm and humid. Traffic is also an issue and poor airflow across the front of the car could mean the difference in comfort commuting to work.
We spend an inordinate amount of time standing still here!
I did recently do the star mod to add the fuel remaining display, but I can't see how that would have affected it.
Any ideas? 05 E55

Are these the ones you bought from https://tpms247.com/ that we discussed here https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...s-sensors.html ?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I've tried other multiplexers of my friends and they work fine ..
Any idea ?

My system gives a failed to update flag along with all the other old Windows XP flags.
You really dont want XP online. It was an Icon for windows in computing but extremely vulnerable to todays criminals.
For those with XP, it should be run with Maximum firewall for VPN, and if the PC absolutely need help get TOR browser.
Most of the Hard Drives for C4 do not have enough storage but a networked Virtual Box image will keep it safe as well.
It takes some knowledge, but an easy way to get outside help on a secure server would be to create a VPN database with Apache.
Hope this gives some a few ideas.
Cheers
The update can easily be deactivated. A better way is to actually update the SD Connect properly with this update. It will not hardware block it. Send TeamViewer login via PM if you wish to get help.
There was a reason why an original SD system could not go online natively, but only through the dealership's secured network. And even that was only limited to a few MB specific websites.
Now on win 7 they changed that philosophy tremendously and not necessarily to the best. I personally never had to go online with my SD laptop. Everything is on the laptop that is needed to work on cars. But a VPN is def. a good way of doing it.

Xentry
Control units, and then?
Good luck.
Any suggestions on what i should do?
Give that car, or go to the dealership?

Playing around with the system and found this via the simulation. Tried it today while performing a B service.
Go to:
-Information and Communication
-Assyst Plus - Plus
-General Servicing
-Service Memory
Peruse the entries that show number of days since Central Gateway enabled, days since last service, mileage at time of service, shop designator, and service items confirmed during the service.
If you don't have access to the hard copy records, the Central Gateway maintains all services in memory so long as the Flexible Service System procedures are followed.
Very nice feature. Makes me look forward to my next Mercedes.

First, Lowering the car.
Get to the 211 Section
Attachment 383602
You will get to the main menu
Attachment 383603
Then go to Func perf by more than...
Attachment 383604
Then Chassis
Attachment 383605
Then Level adj
Attachment 383606
Then Suspension
Attachment 383607
And here is where people have problems, they just go to actuations and then lower it, IT WILL NOT STAY LOWERED this way, you have to go to initial startup
Attachment 383608
Then Initial with manual settings
Attachment 383609
Then F2
Attachment 383610
Here you will see a screen that shows the voltages which correspond to the height of the vehicle. they must be within the given ranges in the left hand column. use the + and - buttons to lower the car (In my screenshot I am in the car with a friend in the back seat, so that is why it is at 3.27, it should not exceed 3) Then hit F2
Attachment 383611
Enter in these inclination angles and if the car is within the voltages supplied in the page before, the car will accept the new lowered setting, if not it will reject it.
Attachment 383612
Now, how to activate the unlock and lock beep (honestly, one of the best mods to do if you have an older model e55
)First Control units
Attachment 383613
Then Body
Attachment 383614
Then rear SAM
Attachment 383615
Then Control unit adaptations
Attachment 383616
Then national version of ATA function
Attachment 383617
At this screen you will see a pull down menu with a list of different regions on it. The only ones you need to worry about are USA with buzzer and Netherlands. If you choose USA, i will give you three short quick beeps when you lock the car and one short when you unlock it. Netherlands will give you three longer beeps when you lock the car and one long when you unlock it. Personal preference on which one you like. Then hit F3
Attachment 383618
Then F3(YES)
Attachment 383619
Hope this helps out some people. I really did not find a good DIY for Star Diagnostics, so I thought I would help out!
Thanks
Aleks
EDIT: Info for -10 Mod added
