GT/C192/R192: New GT55, thoughts from a previous C63s owner
AMG GT: GT, GTS, GTC, GTR, GT-4 door (C192 / R192)2024 - present: The GT/GT S is the second generation GT sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG.
Alternatively, if you have smart home and myQ, can always use Siri or MB's assistant, say a voice command to open the garage door before your approach it.
Hmm that's a good idea. I do have myq on my front gates and garage doors, will have to look into how to program those in when I get some free time. For now got my renntech EVM installation scheduled for Wednesday, looking forward to getting that installed!

Installed the same diameter pipe as vic55 example, and the whistle is gone, so lesson learned do not install a smaller pipe use the bigger diameter , also I forgot to mentioned that with the smaller diameter and closing the valve with the RT module created a funny sound with the smaller pipe, with the bigger pipe that sound is also gone

Im glad you got that handled, I was not able to drive my car for the last week but I know there was no "whistle" ...
Got the RaceChip tuner installed, been around 300 miles and I can tell how much more responsive the car feels, definitely not a placebo effect as I compared with it on and off, and there is a different car came alive after a few hundred miles for sure, maybe a learning curve not sure.
Last thing I have to do is the springs, I have the Brabus springs already but haven't found a shop in the DFW area willing to do it, so far I have the spacers , RT valve, RaceChip tune, last stop ids the springs lol

Once you get the springs on- your mods will mirror mine.
The RC definitely adds to the "theatre" of the car. More boost and power thru the ranges. BTW I found the pedal to be not response enough to my liking (Im used to BMW) so I added the RaceChip XLR throttle unit (cheap and easy to install)... definitely livens the car up further.
Man, you guys are doing exactly the things I would like to do to mine (sans spacers, I'm okay with that part of the look for now). Getting my EVM tomorrow and then still need to find a shop to do the muffler delete. Does the RC tuner cause any issues with the warranty like other tunes would? I assume the throttle unit would not which I think I'd do next. The lag between pressing the accelerator and going bothers me (a little) coming from an EV where the power is instantaneous.

The warranty question is a tough one but its a piggy back so removeable and the only way a tech would know - is by searching for boost changes. The RC is not an ECU tune but external in nature while its not an optimal tune it gets one a 60hp bump and similar tq for cheappppp.
The XLR (I have on most of my cars) is an excellent add to the mushy pedal.

Asked Vic this in the other thread but how does your set up sound with the valves open vs closed? Is there much of a difference?

Did I not answer? Apologies if I did not but the valves opened are clearly noticed especially in lower rpm ranges while cruising as they are normally shut regardless of what aggressive driving mode one may be in. So you get that throaty deeper rumble thru the ranges vs only when being over a certain level. This gets you some cool barks and pops too earlier on.

No sir that other message was for neon! Trying to get an idea of the difference between your two routes. And I definitely believe it sounds good but was trying to see if with your option if closing the valves actually makes it any quieter because it looks like you basically have an always open straight pipe set up

oh yeah the valves closed will make it more docile even with the exhaust mod as its closing out one of the two outlets on both sides.
Done with all the mods, just installed the springs, really like the outcome, thanks for all the tips. Exhaust deleted, RT exhaust valve module, RaceChip tuner, Brabus lowering springs.
Well Christmas came early today. Took a ride over to an exhaust shop that was recommended by another performance mod shop in town after I got the EVM installed. I showed the foreman both Vic's and Neon's set ups and he said he had a third option that would work well and could get it done today! So what he did was take a pre-fabbed 3" y pipe and split the exhaust directly where it originally went into the muffler. Then he had two equal 2.5" pipes straight out to the tips. Looks clean and sounds great! Here's some less than ideal pics I took through the holes of the cover after he put it back on.

If you can post more pics that would be cool --- trying see what your guy did exactly. I went with 3 inch piping but thats not a big deal

Next time I have it up on a lift somewhere I'll have them take off the cover and snap some more pics. They were closing when I picked it up so didn't bother them to take it back off. The basic diff from y'alls setups is he split the main pipe more proximally right where it originally went into the muffler and then the two 2.5" pipes are roughly the same length the rest of the way.
Sweet, just gave them a call. They’re going to check if the module they put on yours will work for a 55. I have a sneaky suspicion that the 55 doesn’t have one which is why it doesn’t show up on the online configurator. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It should... Ive gotta believe the cars share the most basic parts let alone almost every part of the engine too.
