Your boys hooked it up, getting the XLR5 delivered today! Also wondering if anyone knows where I can buy some smoked side marker turn signal film online? I bought some that were specifically cut for my old caddy that I put on myself, wondering if there's anything similar for the GT.

Nice--im running in full bore sport plus mode... level 7

As for the film I have a roll of 3m gloss black wrap that will probably have to do for my silver car. You have a white one so the black might look even better since it will compliment the accents.

Yep, the only thing I truly like about white cars is blacking them out looks way sharper than on other colors.

Can’t wait to get the pedal box installed, earliest install day is next Saturday. Also getting the merc star blacked out that visit. Will be a long week!

@Vic55

How were you able to get the XLR5 for your GT 55 Coupe @theprototype ? I emailed RaceChip directly, and they said they don’t have an XLR5 chip for the GT 55 Coupe yet. Maybe Ben just got you the one for the GT 63 Coupe and is assuming it’ll work perfectly fine with the 55?

Proto will know better as he has a 55--- on my 63 its brilliant.

There are some issues with RC USA (they probably dont know what they have or what will work) as they are getting bought out so Ben goes to EU RC. That might be the difference as I did datalogging with a separate process on my RS6 and it was all with EU RC.

When did you contact them? Had me stressed for a minute but I just checked the paperwork that came with mine and it says it's for the gt55 c192 *shrug*. What kind of tools do I need to remove the pedal? I'm going to take a look at doing it myself today but outside of screwdrivers and pliers I don't really have any dedicated car tools.

I emailed them on Friday and got an answer this morning from a lady at RaceChip US. Still waiting to hear back from Ben though, so we’ll see what he says. He did mention he was reaching out to RaceChip US though. Attaching picture of the response I got.

Yeah that’s really weird the rep themselves said that. Classic example of the arm not communicating with the leg or however that saying goes. I’m halfway thru the install right now, will let you know how it works. Took a trip to Home Depot and after some self experimenting found out the 14mm nut wrench is what you need. It’s disassembled right now waiting for the electronics to shut off before plugging in the module.

Holy ****ing ****! Hahaha, wowww. Just put everything together and took a lap around the neighborhood….had the biggest **** eating grin on my face for the first time since the day I got it. It actually feels like a new car! I didn’t realize the mushy pedal took so much away from the true personality of this car. NOW it feels like an AMG GT. I had to tone it down from race+ to just race lol. Must just be me but I was hearing way more from the exhaust too, lot more pops and burbles.

All I can say is thanks Vic for introducing us to this thing! As far as the install goes it was pretty easy, hardest part was sticking the wire to the right places in the footwell, not much space to maneuver down there. Saved myself $150 doing it myself too, only took about 30 mins altogether.

This has me so hyped for all the parts to be delivered hahah. I have nothing right now but will be doing the RennTech EVM, RaceChip tune, XLR5, and the exhaust mod soon. Was going to get the RennTech tune, but I just don’t think the ~10-20% edge it maybe has on the RaceChip is worth the extra $2600.

Yeah man, definitely worth it. I did everything except the RT tune and it’s been wonderful lol. Now I just want to add a bodykit once one becomes available and I think I’ll be set with the mod bug.

Neon see Vic’s post above, email race tech directly they’ll be able to ship you one

Awesome, and yes you will get more pops cause they are derivative of throttle input which just got enhanced. I assume you are running level 7?

BTW whats Race + vs Race? Or am I missing something?

I actually drive in Sport Plus more than Race because Race actually modulates the shifts for a more track based experience vs Sport Plus which is a street ripper. Race holds the gears longer than Sport Plus.

The XLR (I have on most of my cars) is an excellent add to the mushy pedal.
hey this XLR is supposed to be similar to sprint booster? Any specific reason you prefer xlr as I hadnt heard of it before? Have you used both and you think xlr is better or just brand preference towards it? Thanks

Im sure its relatively the same; Im just used to XLR as I have it on my RS6 and on my M's too.

At the end of the day they all kind of complete the intended desire.

XLR gives me 7 settings on the cell phone app- not sure what SB does.

So on my app and on the little apple watch device it gives me 3 modes eco, sport, and race. Then you can add modifiers like sport+ and race+. I’m not actually sure what the 7 stages you’re referring to are?

Ooops yes you are right as well, technically when you go into fine tuning, the total amount of choices are 7 states. I forgot how many under Race, Sport and Eco but it all adds up to 7.

I first though you had some setting in the car called Race PLUS LOL

Question for either of you @Vic55 @theprototype : Does doing the muffler delete essentially make the RennTech EVM pointless? I just stopped by a muffler shop near me, and after looking at a diagram of the exhaust system online, he was saying that it looks like the muffler delete would get rid of the valves entirely. Is this true, or is he mistaken?

Yeah he's mistaken. Neither of us did a full axleback reconfiguration. We just literally replaced the mufflers with connecting pipes. Both of our setups have the original exhaust pipe with the valve still in place (on each side) and I had them replace my second one with a larger 3" pipe for added sound. Valves are less effective than before with the larger second pipe but still a bit quieter than with both pipes fully open. I still drive around with the valves fully open 95% of the time tho. Hope that helps.
