Does anyone know if you can add Keyless Go aftermarket?
Also had I known the trunk was going to be so heavy and hard to close I would have gotten automatic trunk closure feature. So same question for that one, can I get it aftermarket?

I should have just gotten it all when I ordered it, oh well live an learn and hopefully add later :-)

For keyless go to make any kind of sense in dollars it needs to be done with as many mods as possible so that the costs even out. Even then you need to really have a long chat first.

People often ask me "how hard is it to install options into my car"

reply - Just hand over the money and go for a walk.

have you guys actually looked at the keyless go systems and tried to retrofit? or are you just repeating what you have heard. I ask because everyone said the same thing about a few of the other cars I own that come with keyless go in europe but not US. After doing a little investigation and reverse engineering we determined that all the electronics were already in place in the US cars. all that was needed was the addition of the switch and some wiring and we were good to go. I now have 2 cars with keyless go that didn't come factory with it and each was about $300 to do.

so my question really is: has anybody traced this down in a newer model to see exactly what is present and what is missing in models between and without keyless go??

Where did YOU get Your Information from?...Mercedes does NOT Pre install the Electronics in the car...Please correct me (IF) Im wrong!

$300.00 yeah right....Price out the Keyless go door handles...and shifter?
And the remotes/control unit.....Just one WILL Be over that
Those are NOT Pre installed

Mark, you are absolutely correct. The handles alone are more than 200 EACH!!!! Plus the rear bearing at 80 EACH. That's more than 500 in parts for just 2 doors and you still need 4 control modules, 5 antennas, harnesses, ignition switch, etc... Trust me. There is no way you will get a keyless go system for less than 2 grand plus key. The mercedes key system is much more sophisticated than a normal metal key.

he must be referring to a aftermarket system for "other" cars. There is NO WAY you can make any other system work with the benz. You have to use all Original MB parts for keyless go.

What part numbers do you need to install the Keyless Go to a car that doesn't have it installed. I know I can buy the shifters online, will I need a module, antennas and amplifiers... How will I program my Key to work with it? Very interested, please respond.

antennas, module, door actuators and modules, KG keys... oh and a full harness will need to be built (or you can buy new vehicle harneses for $4500).. you will need access to a dealership SDS machine to code the vehicle as well as to program the key track to the KG module. the aftermarket or bootleg SDS copies will not work for programming KG.

Honestly you can expect to pay around $5000-$8000 to add it... if you really are serious about doing it we can build you the harness if you dont want to order a whole new vehicle one...

Keyless Go
I guess it pretty much depends on what you have to start from. My ML350 has already holes poked for the 2 (!) front doors. ( Who the hack needs 4 doors to close the car ???? ).

Hardware to be modified / changed :

1. Install * close * buttons on the 2 front doors. ( I assume the electrical wires are already installed ) : $150

2. Install Start / Stop PB , $ 200

3. Install antenna. $ 100

4. Control unit $ 200

5. The keys probably work with the control unit already.

this is all what is required to modify my 2007 ML350 for option xzy original MB keyless go. I will get a MB prize this days.

I don't see there $ 5000 - $ 8000, sorry.

That would be a real disappointment if he has moved on. I worked closely with Steve for over 3 years doing my mods.

keyless go
My buddy got a ML350 and when he picked it up, the dealer installed the keyless go button in the ignition. Can I buy one and go keyless or is there a whole kit that needs to be bought?

I don't care about the doors. I just want the button.
