IPOD question
Okay, well Steve did my IPOD intergration yesterday and just wondering from the people who have had this done, is the sound quaility lower than the other types of media, I mean when I turn it off and then go to CD, the CD is so much louder! The IPOD is turned up to the highest setting before installing the intergration cable... just wondering or asking for help~~~

iPod volume controls only affect the headphone jack, not the dock connector. For a fair test, rip the music from the CD you're comparing it to, play it on the iPod and the CD player.

I tried it out myself. You're right, you have to turn up the iPod. I played an mp3 I had on both my iPod and an mp3 CD and the CD player was much louder.
I think the Dension icelink gives you two or three levels of volume adjustment but I don't think the iPod integration kit has anything similar.

I'm experiencing the same thing, and volume control is off with EQ set at Pop as per manual. The damn thing sounds just to crappy, and most of my songs are directly from CD encoded w/ Apple Loseless. Apparently there is a tiny amp you can install for 20 some dollars. Does anyone know how this works?

On the W204 (new C class), if you don't have the sound system, there is an extra little part you install which is an amplifier between the iPod conector cable and the interface.
I wonder if you really do need it for others.
What cars have you 'low volume' people got, and do you have HK sound system ?
Lets see if theres anything in common here.

Thanks, I hear my wife's Grandmother isn't doing too well, so unfortunitely the trip may be sooner than I thought, but thanks again... I will look you on this... and maybe I'll bring a set of Door sills too!
