Samsung Droid Charge
Got above mentioned phone yesterday (upgrading from a Blackberry Curve) and everything seems fine so far.It paired up smoothly and I made a couple of calls with no problem.Haven't received any calls yet and I haven't tried streaming any music (mainly because I haven't loaded any music onto it yet ).

2004 CL55 the B67875855 works with the Droid2. Full download of contacts and automatic pairing when you turn the car on. When you use your steering wheel controls it will display the information in the dash and allow you to call from there and of course the full interface on the Comand system.
So far, it only works for the phone function. It doesn't appear to let me listen to music or other web sites through the phone.

OK, just went to your site. Obviously I didn't do enough homework. &$*&%&^%*&.
Will that iTronic gizmo allow the navigation in my phone (which is fantastic) to show on the car's screen? I guess I need to ask how complete the integration is. How much of the android features shows up on the Comand screen?

The iTronic is a fiber optic unit and as such, is for audio only. No video travels over the fiber optic network. You can marry it to our Video In Motion module and anything that can output composite video (iPhone, iPod, some Android, XBox (lol), etc) will then play the video portion through to the screen and the audio goes through the iTronic. Might sound complicated, but they sit side by side and it is all quite transparent to the driver.

So fiber optic for audio and RCA/Composite for video. Just like an old home stereo. So the Comand screen just becomes the remote display for the smartphone. Very cool.
When are we just going to have a touch screen that clones/mimics/enlarges our smartphone screen so all the function is there? That doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do. Two way communication from the vehicle screen to the smartphone, replacing the smartphone's screen with the vehicle's screen. If it doesn't exist now, I'm sure that's next.

I noticed many b67875877 listed on UK ebay as used for $150. Is it high price? Any experience with ebay used items? My actual expereince is bad, I bought a changer from ebay for my W210 and it didn't work. But I hope these adapters have no moving parts so more reliable.

5878 and 6131 are the same in terms of their electronics. They have different outer cases and colors (5878 is blue and silver; 6131 is black).
Both use the same Bluetooth core specification (I believe it is 2.0); however, they may use different protocols that are implemented together with the core specification. I do not have information on the specific firmware loads for each. See post 438 at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...ml#post4459271 for a bit more.
I am using the 5878 puck with an iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1, the latest iOS available at this writing. It works just fine. I expect puck 6131 would also work well, and there would be no practical difference between them.

Thanks Skylaw for the info,
I'll go with 5878 most likely

I have been looking on a lot of posts and doing a lot of searching. I just aquiered a '03 C240. The dash and radio have the set up of a phone but I do not have a cradle build into the center console. I have see some posts about a puck with tail for the E class but nothing about the C class. I went to MB by me and they didn't even know the term puck. Does anyone know if the pucks with tails will work on a '03 C240 or what will. Mainly I want to use it for calls but if for music and google maps audio could work also that would be a plus. I have the tape and cd changer no Nav on in the car.
Thanks for the help.

See the How-To Guide for Handsfree, Bluetooth etc. at http://www.benzworld.org/forums/audi...ades-plug.html; you could also check https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...bluetooth.html here, but the first link has been edited more recently and may be easier to use.
The terms "Puck," "dongle" and "cradle replacer" are synonymous. As the Guide will make clear, the "puck with tail" is NOT for the '03 C240. It is ONLY for cars with a CP-211 handsfree unit, and those models are specified in the link at post #4 of that thread.
Post #3 of the thread applies to your car. When you have no phone equipment in the car, you will need a Universal PSE, a "cradle eliminator cable" and a "V60 puck" (or dongle, and sometimes called a cradle replacer. Part numbers are in the link. Skip the stuff about the "blue label" PSE - it is very doubtful your car has one; otherwise you would have a phone cradle.

@Skylaw Never thanked you for the reply. My end solution was replaceing the head unit altogether. Me and a friend removed the radio and installed a Alpine with the bluetooth already built in. we added som cams so that I can retain the use of the stearing wheel controls. worked out to about $250 and 4 hours of wireing and testing. much chaper solution than the bluetooth upgrade and I got Ipod function out of it too.
But thank you for pointing me in the right direction seeing that the work could be done.

As an update. I replaced my head unit too.
Sound is fantastic with standard speakers and new amp due to the flexible equalization capabilities of the unit. Blue tooth between phone and unit started out fantastic, has gotten glitchy now, which I blame on the phone. Steering wheel control interface didn't work because every input did two things, one in the car's computer and one in the head unit. I still haven't figured out 20% of what the thing will do. I like a Garmin GPS a lot. Just got a message it should buy an update. Oh, and had to update the software on the head unit as soon as I installed it. I did the override so you can have a DVD playing while driving. No pillar box function. USB's filled with music are great as are Sandiscs. The thing has a remote I've yet to use, and never will. The volume control bar is really small so not so friendly to use. The unit has two USB cords inputs coming out of it, one in the console and one in the glove box. The unit is a Kenwood DNN990HD. I think I've had it about a year now.
