1. HOW-TO GUIDE FOR CELL PHONE UPGRADES, PLUG-IN AND BLUETOOTH
Phone directory
Skylaw,
I have a few groups of contact lists in my iPhone 4 today. It use to be when I was using iPhone 3GS with os 3.x, I can select any groups I set up in outlook vs only 2 today, favorite or all contacts in my iPhone 4 running os 4.x.
I have no choice but to abandon the car phone short list of about 100 and enable favorite and select like top 50 (apple limit) as favorite, enable favorite to download. It works fine in my BMW but not the Mercedes. My c230 can only do the all contacts. How many I did not count. I believe it's at least >100+. My all contacts has 1000+ entries but not entries are downloaded. It ignore any number that are not US IE start with 1 country code. So all international numbers are skipped. Did not know its so smart, knowing we are in the US and try to save us $. Does anyone has an international number in their dir downloaded?
So with the Mercedes, my phone directory is almost useless.
Hope this answer your question and sorry for the false hope that you choose a specific group.

2004 E500 V60s activation
I just walked into Verizon this morning and they activated the V60s for my 2004 E500. No issues at all and it works well - for $10 a month added on to my plan.

I'm not familiar with the term "low cost tele-aid."
My writeup was quite specific that only the '03 and '04 model years among the E-Class in the U.S. used the CP-211 system. The cradle replacer you used is for the CP-211. It is not compatible with the MHI phone system with which the '05 E-Class was usually equipped. See the phone bulletin at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/Phon...0E%20Sedan.pdf
Unless for some reason your car is equipped with a CP-211, it is likely you need to install the MHI system described in the phone bulletin link provided above. You might also check the bulletin for the '04 at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/Phon...Sedan%2004.pdf and verify what PSE (if any) is installed in your car.
You didn't tell us where you lived. I know little about Euro spec cars, so my advice is confined to U.S. spec cars.

As a sponsor, we should also point out that you can upgrade ANY Mercedes from any part of the world that has M.O.S.T. fiber optics - no matter if your car is pre-wired or not, no mater if you have a pre-existing PSE or MHI or not. All it takes is our iTronic BT. It is a complete kit, one unit, that plugs into the fiber optic network and activates ALL the original factory functions for telephone use PLUS gives you several distinct advantages over the factory parts that are detailed on our site at Cartronics.com - In many cases it will also be less expensive than sourcing the original parts too, also much easier to install in most cases.
Based on what you see on the thread, what are my options?

Based upon you previous post you have two choices:
1. Keep going with your current method of trying to put in the original factory system. You will need to get a PSE and possible other components at a minimum.
2. You can return or sell what you have now (to save any of that money), and just install the iTronic BT and be done with it.

If you are referring to option 2, The model is called the iTronic BT. You can order it at our site http://www.cartronics.com - just select Mercedes, Your Year/Class, and then select BLUETOOTH PHONE (and IPOD)

My wife and I have a Samsung Galaxy phone w/ Verizon that worked perfectly with the bluetooth on my 2011 W212 and her 2011 Honda Pilot.
We did a software update on our Samsung Galaxy phones and now the phones are not working as perfectly as it they did before.
Is this a Samsung issue or MB/Honda issue? How can we resolve this?

Yes please help.
It seems the upgrade may have caused the issue. Can you backout the upgrade and then see if the phone is working ok. If it's ok, then you could try to do the upgrade again (it may have been a corrupt upgrade the first).

The Samsung was working perfectly with my car. I then downloaded the latest software update for the Samsung and now there seems to be a problem with the mic/sound.
People can not hear me when I talk and I can hardly hear other people when they talk.
I can not undo the software update. I actually checked to see if there were any additional software updates/patches that may have been released to correct but there are none.
Some regulars of the W212 forum think that a software update to the E350/W212 command might do the trick.

Just figured out my problem I was having with my phone in the posts above.
After updating the phone's software with the latest update, people had a hard time hearing me and I had a hard time hearing other people via the bluetooth connection in my car.
There is a phone option setting that can adjust speaking volume and hearing volume. They are preset at zero and worked fine with the pre updated phone. I just changed the setting to 1 and now both work fine.
Thanks again for the help.

Easy (read inexpensive) way to add BT to w208 w/ comand?
I have a 2001 CLK320 (W208) with comand 2.0 nav unit recently added. I have the old (analog) teleaid system and no other phone installed, though i am informed it is prewired for phone. I would love to find an easy (and inexpensive) way to add:
1 Bluetooth hands free ability so I can use my Droid X2 w/o the earpiece, and
2 if there is a way to use the telephone buttons on the comand HU (and the dash info) I would love to be able t. Not worth spending thousands of dollars on though.
Thanks for any suggestions
Rich

I think Skylaw has some info on other solutions, but we provide the Argos module to hundreds of dealers, shops and individuals that do what you want.
Which One or Combination for a 2008 R350?
I'm looking for the puck or combination of the puck and whatever else for a 2008 R350. I read the posts, and being somewhat non-technical; the glaze forms over my eyes fairly quickly.
What solution should I be on the lookout for, and do you have any suggestions on where to find it?

For the MB BT cradle option, since the site no longer provides the supported phones, how can I know if my newer phone (Droid Thunderbolt) will be supported? Or is it a gamble at this point as newer and newer phones hit the market? Wonder if the newer Blackberry Bold is supported since prior BB models were.
It is weird that there has to be some sort of special support for every phone with this module.
