What to do? When I get ready later this year for my B service I will be changing the engine air filter. Has anyone who has changed to the K & N in their C250 COUPE recommend? Any better performance or mileage? All info appreciated.
Newbie
I had the air filter on my 2012 c250 sport. I did not notice any changes in performance or gas mileage. IMO all the air filter did was make a noticeable sound. I would not spend money on it unless you can find it for a good price. A friend of mine gave it to me after he totaled his c250.
I do agree with 1BADLVN, if you have plenty of money, let do it. I have not seen any different of K&N on usage. In additional, replace new air filter should be better than wash K&N and spray the liquid everytime. I ve heard about their liquid having problem with some hot wire ecu measurement too.

Haven't had any problems with mine, been running it for around a year now. Neither has a mate on his car. Improvements in induction noise. Power gains not hugely noticeable if much.
I probably wouldn't go back to stock though unless I had a reason.
I suspect a lot of the poor feedback is people installing/maintaining incorrectly.

Numerous test results show just how poor K&N filters are at filtering. OE filters are the best you can use.

K & N filter only has to be cleaned and reoiled every 50,000 mi. That is one of the benefits.Originally Posted by panjap

That's not a benefit. That's why the damn things don't filter properly. They are letting abrasive crap into your engine.
