Question Owner's Manual Holder and Glove Box

Am I missing something? I can't fit the black leather manuals case in my glove box. Is this the price I have to pay for having the 6-disc CD changer? Where do you keep this thing stored?

My car has a net on the transmission tunnel passenger side. The owners manual fits nicely in that space.

Thanks, it's currently in the trunk well, but I think I'll move the main manual into the glove box.

Just read it, memorize the essentials and leave at home.

I stuck mine in with the first aid kit in the trunk, under the cover with the rear fuse panel. Slides in a fits perfect in there.

Speaking of which, where EXACTLY, is this first-aid kit supposed to be? I looked at where I thought the owner's manual was saying it was (in the driver's side trunk well) and didn't see one -- is it behind a cover or did I get ripped off by the dealer?

on the coupe it is in the trunk lid (piece that lifts up).

Also, I have a compartment right next to where the first aid kit is for the triangle, but the triangle wasn't in there. I know it's a requirement in Europe. Do they not put it in there on US cars?

No, no triangle on US models. But, if you get European Delivery, you can get one. Which, of course, is no help you you.

On 2002 coupes, the FAK is on the drivers side, right in front of the taillight cluster. I've never looked inside it.

I have my manual in the same place as Moviela and Mark; works for me.

That's where I keep my CD case; plus, on the 05 interior the owners manual doesn't fit in the door card.

On the sedans, the first-aid kit is under the right side speaker grill in the rear package shelf. Has a small green cross symbol on the fake grill.

I keep my bound owners manual in my home with my other books, the spiral bound quick reference in the glove box. The manual holder and all other docs in the left side cubby in the trunk.

I keep my manual in the spare tire well. I keep two extra CD catridges for the CD changer right next to the changer on the shelf in the glove box. I keep the quick refrence book in the glove box. First aid kit is under the passenger side back speaker grill (As MB-BOB has stated).

I've heard you have to take the triangle with you before you drop the car off for shipping to the US, otherwise it'll be removed.

My manual is at home in a bookcase. Probably haven't looked at it in three years, why bother carrying it in the car?

Yeah, I read the same thing. They remove it before it gets shipped if you don't first.

I refer to the manual pretty often for settings and bulb stuff, since I seem to lose a bulb a month now.

I found the first-aid kit in the sedan in the same place that Deutscher Wagen found it in the coupe -- not in the driver's side trunk well, where the manual says it should be, but rather, in the tray that locks the spare tire down.

I've also found that when the cigarette lighter and the piece of plastic that hold it in are removed you have a nice little compartment for storing coins.

I'm keeping the manual and the cigarette lighter in the trunk, rather than in the house, because I don't won't to have to search for them when it comes time to trade the car in.

I had a six disc changer in the glove box and fit the owner's manual in the leather case just fine. Turn it a few times and you'll get it to fit! You should see the glove box in my new Mazda 3, its huge! I can fit the owner's manual, first aid kit, my brief case, and still have room for my beer. ::burp::

just found my first aid kit, it was in the trunk on the driver's side in the little space that's cut out, there's even a velcro loop in there to hold it in place, i had forgetten that it even had a first aid kit!
