If anything, I definitely would go C32 (if that was a "realistic" option for me), but since it would most likely impossible for me to find a C32 exactly as I want it (all stock options I have and/or more), in my price range and in the same color my current car is, I'll probably end up going the fun route (same route you're taking for performance mods). Only one I've seen in the L.A. area that remotely matches that is Wiedermann's car (member on these boards).

Well, no matter what, you're taking a risk, but if you have a service advisor that you trust, there shouldn't be too much of an issue unless the "aftermarket" part causes issues to your engine in any way. No matter what, the dealership cannot void your warranty unless they prove without a reasonable doubt that the aftermarket part was directly the cause of the problem. Somebody else wrote some information about warranty voiding, but can't remember who started the thread. I'll see if I can find it and I'll PM you the link.

Your gonna spend all this money and time on this car, yet you refuse to even prove that your very first mod did anything? Simply amazing
Why am I not surprised. Don't bother dyno'ing the car with the rest of the mods either then.

risk + challenge =

i may end up getting all renntech upgrades if i can get some $. then we'll see who continues hating when i smoke a car costing twice as much.

ROFLMFAO ok you guys are basTURDS. I am going to talk my way into letting George dyno it without the K&N next week while I am modding the airbox cover and getting rid of those cross pattern pieces of crap. that way we will see how BOTH things change the power.

so....

back to my original post,
- baseline dyno you can't claim HP gain, if you don't know where it was before.
- good luck ! lofty goals ! You can do it. I hope your rich ! But you won't reach C32/C55 numbers without voiding your warranty (ie: completely new engine components), or spending $$$. $9K is not enough, believe me ! I'm trying to get my V6 C320 up to C32 specs, and that alone is over $10K. But like you, I'm modding for fun, so have fun !
- check your math like everyone has said, HP gains are not linear. HP = $$$$ And be very specific on how you're going to get each extra pony !!

I'm not hating ! You do the MODS you need to do ! Have fun !
It's just that you really need to research and take a reality check.
If you can't afford a $50 DYNO, where you gonna get the cash to get a C230K 4cyl up to C55 specs ??? I know, I know, in time, we will all see !
But by that time, the C55 will be as slow as hell !

Carlos, just curious cuz I haven't read up on the mods for the 320 (coupe or sedan), but is it possible for you to get the stock C32 supercharger installed on your engine, in particular your coupe?

Don't know if it is or not, but very curious, cuz my cousin has a 320 sedan and if at all possible, I can help him out on "increasing hp".

Yes, very possible, There's plenty of room in the engine bay for S/C and inline coolers and all that other jazz... it's not just a straight plug & play. You also have to do some downline mods to tranny & crank & headers, because the stock C320 is not set up for all that extra HP & torque a S/C would add.

KLEEMANN, RennTech, CARLSSON, and (I believe) BRABUS, all have SuperChargers for the V6 C320 as well. Ranging from $13K to $30K depending on dealer.

Dropping in a C32 engine with associated drive-train & SAM computer would be ideal !!
but costly !! I spoke to Mark Cummins about this once before. I think there's more stuff I would need. He would know.

Let me know if you have any ideas / suggestions on V6 C320 performance upgrades.
So far, I've got:
- K&N air filters
- AMG exhaust
- RENNTech ECU programming

adding about 20 HP to my already 218 stock.

thinking of future mods to include:
- EVOsport UDPS
- EVOsport new headers
- AMG n/a C55 air intake (if possible)

Did we meet at the Rose Bowl get-together back in February ???
Thanks !

Carlos

Damn, I figured as much. No matter what version of the w203 or Benz in general, mods just get astronomically insane when it comes to the $$$. Has anybody done a forced induction (Turbo) setup for either the 240 or 320? I know there was that one kid that did a complete swap out from supercharger to turbo on the 230, but curious if anybody considered that? If there are any threads on that, let me know. I'd like to check out what others with the 240/320 have conceptualized when it comes to their NA motors.

As for the Rose Bowl meet...LOL...I was supposed to go. I think I told you, IKomprz, Citron and a couple others that I would be there, but I had to cancel out last minute. But, to answer your question, we haven't met in person yet...I'll do my best to make the next one!

Hahaha...yup. I heard that it's actually very dark (like it should be) and is even rated PG-13!! Never thought any of the Star Wars would ever be given that rating.

Either way, I hope Lucas did a re-vamp on his approach from Episode 1 and 2 because that was ridiculous. I wonder if he'll kill off Jar-Jar...I hate that character

not sure about Turbo, or even thoughts about it on the 240/320 set up.
I'm sure there are more peeps up in L.A. car clubs that could probably pull it off, with the right amount of $$$. Yeah, it seems like it's all about the $ with these Benzos. But damn, they're fun !!

Yes, VERY dark !
and I would definitely consider it a re-vamp from I or II.

sorry to spoil it for you, but...

lololol i'm not hating, now you're lying. anyway... i am not doing mods because i have to or because i need to prove to anyone what HP increases are, i honestly don't give a fack, i'm doing it for fun. just for fun. i am not going to spend a ton of money on dumb stuff right away. i'm just gonna take my time, do one or two mods a month maybe and see what happens. i don't care about "specs" of other cars, i don't care about the dyno chart, i don't care about anything but having fun moddding. :p
also, last time i will say this, i am not going to void any warranties unless the mod directly causes a failure, THIS IS THE LAW not what MB says or what people on intraweb forums say. modding will not cause warranty voiding unless the part directly caused the failure. so enough with the "omg ohnoes voided warranty" posts please.

You will find out in life that just because something is right it will not always turn out this way...I will almost guarantee you if it looks like an aftermarket part you put on your car in any way shape or form to them could have caused the damage you are wanting them to fix under warranty, they will deny the claim. If the local dealers reasoning is far stretched you might have some luck contacting the regional rep. to get them to cover it, but good luck.

Yes, you can fight it and yes, maybe your part did not cause the problem but the time, effort and money you will need to fight them on this will not be worth it.

So..basically keep all your original parts and make sure to install them back on before you head back to the dealer for related warranty work.
