2005 c230

I am getting close to 43k miles

No major problems just minor ones

Trunk button on drivers side and sub woofer panel keeps rattling when music is played especially on loud bass. Replaced 5x. stupid dealers cant fix the problem.

2006 C230 - 12K miles in six months. No probs, everything cool. Will drive it until it dies (keeping miles off of the SL) and when it does, Audi RS4.

2003 SL500 - 35K miles and as cool and perfect as the day I bought it. First year for the car so I will likely keep it forever (wish I had done this with all of the other now classics).

You have the sharpest C class I have ever seen. Nice ride man. I love the wheels and the color, and that low ride.

^Is that a C32 bumper on the front of his car? The difference is very subtle. If so, does one also need to change the fog lights to the C32 AMG units?

'04 C230 ss 6-speed, bought new in 3/04. Just crossed over 40k. Pretty reliable except the brakes wore out at 35k and the OE Pilot Sports are cashed (replaced them with Blizzaks during the winters so they went 22k). I plan to keep it until the spring of 2009, at least.

04/C230 in my picture below. Its done 41000 +- and only had to replace tires so far but going to wait and see how the new w204 looks in person and let them work out the first years bugs and see from there. I love my car and I always get complements on it.

Blizzaks? Good/Bad? 1-10 rating We really need a tire rating thread sticky on here?

04/230SS Bought mine used in December 2006 with 41,000KM (25,400mi) and put on almost 2,000km since. Have 9 months left on warantee, 1 yr 9mo left on major component warantee.

I knew the previous owner and have the service records:
-New pads and rotors, front
-tie rod end
-repair cup holder (would not stay down)
-repaired consule lid (2x - kept falling off)
-fixed lighter (no power)
-2 rear tires (roofer was sloppy and did not clean up the nails on the driveway 6 punctures!)

I Need to repair (all fairly minor):
-brake pedal squeeks
-passenger window on express up gets mixed up and goes up and down and up and then stops
-slight oil leak on left side of diff
-clatter from engine on start up (goes away after 2sec or after oil pressure builds)
-hard to engage 1st gear from stand still
-shift boot prematurely wearing (should have been leather)

Quote: You must drive as much as my wife. She has a 60 mile commute (round trip) to work and back every day.
I see my little pitter (two yr old daughter) two to three times a week. It is a 160 mile round trip. It is about 4 hours for me in the car.

I would post a pic of her, as I'm a proud daddy, but for fear of some freak doing something stupid to the pic.

I think I'm going to post this question in the W202 forum.

Highest mileage ever!
I think I've got the title as having the highest mileage....

2002 C240 150K+...and going strong!

First problem so far is having to change the crankshaft sensor right now, and the A/C has a low pressure line leak. Had to replace suspension bushings around 100K, prob cuz we live in a world of major potholes and speed bumps. Other than that still running great! I've never had problems with cars going past 100K yet, just gotta keep up the maintenance.

hmm...lets see...

2002 C230 Komp Coupe

Bought used in Feb of 2006 from 1 owner with 48k on it. Amazing condition intertior and engine. Purchase extended warranty for about $2,400.

In April my Sun roof/Moon roof came off track and bent a bunch of hardware. Warranty covered all costs, parts and labor total was $2,7xx something.

Next month my altenator died, also killed my battery driving it home. Warranty covered all costs. Altenator and labor was about $9xx something. Although while in the shop they noticed I had a bad front torque strut bearing. Parts and labor was like $300 or something, (I think) but also had to do an alignment to put the bearing back on which warranty company would only cover 30% of the cost. I paid about $86.xx something, and the car drove and cornered 120 times better but total cost to me was like $86 bux and warranty paid about $1200.

Last week my motor died for the Sun roof which was not replaced in the original problem with the sun roof. I believe that only hardware was replaced.
Warranty covered all costs and of course a free rental like always. Total parts and labor costs were about $400 something.

I put about 38k miles on it for my 1st year of owning it, now it's at 89k and my warranty runs out at 100k...I don't know what to do, I can't afford for something to happen to the car w/o it being under warranty. But the warranty DEFINATLY paid for itself, sooo glad I got it.

So!....any suggestions for a new car???

Amazing! What are symptoms of a crankshaft sensor problem?
