I just bought the same 01+ clear side markers off ebay from F1 and when I emailed him to ask if they fit the 2005's he said NO... but I didn't see the email in time and ended up winning the bid. doh
I've heard conflicting things... can someone who's actually bought these same ones from F1 and installed them confirm that the "01+" side markers fit an '05 properly?

And I've emailed him many times but no reply. Funny how before the auction I emailed him and he replied twice, real fast both times too. ALL items I've won after his auction have arrived. I'm going to contact them on the phone tomorrow to see what's up.

Well I'd like to know from both of you whether or not the side markers both of you guys bought will fit. You guys can be my guinea pigs before I try and purchase from him.

by the way, I'm getting rid of my clear side-markers, and going with the Euro rub strip. No side-markers at all. I don't even remember where I got mine from anymore, I know it was eBay, but which seller ???? They're all the same guy by the way... made in Taiwan and shipped to Los Angeles. Found out it costs about $1.40 to make them, $0.30 to ship to the USA in mass quantity, and then they turn around and sell the cheap plastic (which doesn't even fit as snug as the original amber MB lens) for $30-$35, and to add insult to injury charge you $10-$15 for shipping !!!
LOL... I know, I know: supply & demand, and I was a sucker and bought one too !
But had enough of the white-light look, and going for the European rubbing strips with PTS, along with AMG front & rear bumpers. Have fun with your white side-markers... watch out for the PO-PO !

but I'm getting PTS as well, so I'm ordering new Euro rubbing strips with the PTS sensor holes from Steve. My wife is also getting PTS on her sedan, except hers has the chrome striping. All of my mod projects are now a double head-ache, because when I mention something else I'm doing to my car, my wife says: "I want that too !" LOL ! So Folding Mirrors x 2, PTS x 2, etc... the good thing is that her car came with a lot more goodies than mine, so it's not that bad !

you'll have to prep and re-paint to match your car's color...
it's doable ! Just know that the COUPE strips do not have the chrome striping that some (some) of the SEDANS have.
At least it eliminates the whole amber / white side-marker dilemma.
on a side note... I haven't even got my Euro Rubbing Strips w/ PTS yet, and my white side-markers are already claimed. It won't be until Jan/Feb '05 til I take them off though ! Can't wait !

How much do those things cost from the dealer anyway. It would definitely have that true euro look. They come prepainted color matched with the car right?
