Please STF...

Steve and Wanda should be able to hook you up with these...you will need to "relocate" your DOT light...

Thanks,
Jake

Euro Impact Strip deletes the side markers on your front bumper (the orange plastic things)

Smoking them just makes them black

European regulations do not require amber side markers. As a result, the European impact strip is different than the US market in that it does not have the amber side marker light. Many on the forum prefer this cleaner look. Some purchase these impact strips (see Steve, aka MBenzNL); others replace their amber light with a clear, black, or smoked light; still others paint their side marker their car's body color.

As for my opinion, I actually DO like these eBay ones, provided they are OEM quality and not crap. In all, I'd say euro impact strips or these lights for me.

Painted sidemarkers FTW! I just got mine painted, and they look great during the day. Even better, they still light up at night! He just put like 2 coats down, just enought to get the color right, but enought to let the light through. Looks so clean!

Ok i know this is an old thread but i actually like the white side markers. I'm from Ireland so i have the euro ones but I'm thinking of goin for the US style (people always want what they don't have) plus I've never seen them over here and want to be different. Can anyone fill me in on the wiring of them cheers..

Hey Utahkompressor,

Did you get these on eBay? Because they look exactly like a set I bought on eBay back late last year. I still haven't put them on my car yet. But I will really soon, now that the weather's much nicer.

Looks good on your car.

I'm thinking about painting mine and was wondering if there was any way to disable the light completely. I know if I take it out it warms me the light is out. Maybe short the connector with a resistor?

no there's not.

just wrap the bulb in aluminum foil if you don't want the light to shine through after you paint the marker.

Thanks Frank. That's funny I thought about foil too but I figured it might burn or something.

Regarding bulbs. Aren't they technically just using resistance and gas to light up the bulb?

you could take out the bulb socket and use a resistor, but the resistor will get very hot and melt stuff inside the bumper.

to save work and hassle tin foil is the best way to go. they shouldn't burn unless directly in contact with fire.

i bought smoked cases from ebay...they arent smoked orange they are smoked clear...then i got white halogens from autolumination to put in and now it looks pretty cool...light still comes through but its white and no orange exists, and in the day you cant even tell its there unless looking for it! it blends right into the color of my car at least which is black!

in fact in my sig you can see them on the far right (its the lil spec of light showing through) notice how white it is and that it blends into the headlights HID quite well

Should I get Clear or Black Side Markers?

Should I get clear or smoked side markers?

I found clear ones on ebay. They say 02-07, but some other side markers say 02-06.

Will the 02-06 fit on my 07 w203?

If your car is black, then tinted is the ONLY option with these two choices...

You should contact Steve at MBenzNL and get the European Impact Strips...like the Designer intened!

+1 on the Euro Impact Strips. 50 bucks is well worth the price.
