W203/CL203 City Light Thread (LED, HID, bulbs) - All you want to know
On a different topic, Can you tell me where to order the wood panel for the heat/ac vent in your ML? I have seen some wood kit from a couple of sites but is not sure of their quality and they look plastic like. Yours look like they are real wood?
Also, can you still order the ML instrument chrome rings and how much? Thank you in advance for your help.
Do you guys know where I can buy those LED "city lights" for my CLK55 W208? The wedge LED bulbs look great in terms of color, but the wedge style bulb is not the same type that goes on the W208. The W208 takes this H6 type and the end of the bulb looks like a small flashlight bulb.
I have tried the Phillips H6, the Polarg M17, etc... I do not like the colors on those bulbs.
Thanks....
So do you add new 194 sockets and leave the existing bulbs hanging behind the city light housing?
Do they need to be wrapped up / waterproofed or anything?
What dd you do Drew?
Thanks

His solution while effective is rather exotic or cumbersome depending on your point of view.
Just looking for some more feedback since i now have my Bi-Xenons here.
Has anyone tried this but Drew?

I've since added the LED wedge bulbs to my clear corners as well, and they look superb! I was annoyed by how the so called whiter bulbs were still not white enough, and the yellowish clear corners (relatively speaking of course) were throwing off the entire ensemble, if you will.

What kind of wiring did you have to do to trick the computer after installing those new city lights from formymercedes.com.

I emailed the guy @ myroadster.net (?) and he said that I do need the load equilizers for the city lights. Now my assumption from reading these forums is that I would definitely need them for my turn signals. I'm not sure if I need them for my city lights. So i have 2 questions:
1. Do I need a load equilizer for my city lights?
2. Where's the best place to place them? (b/c i've heard that they get hot)
Is there a way to have your City Lights on during the day while all your other lights are off???
Essentially, I am looking to use these as Daytime Running Lamps INSTEAD of the BiXenon headlights as selectable using the programmable controls (per the manual).
Has anyone looked to do this or done this? Thanks.
Is there a way to have the City Lights on without turning on the other lights?
I know, but it makes for good accent lighting nontheless. The BiXenons are just the opposite... TOO Bright for Daytime Running Lights.

I happen to like the subtleness that the City Lights provide on this car. -I just can't find a way to have only those on.- My other car does not have City Lights and on that one I sometimes do just use my Xenons as well.
Uh. Duh?

If you want to have them on by themselves then you have to install another set of them that's independently switched, which probably means drilling a set of holes in your lights to fit the bulbs into. These would be independent of the stock city lights. Of course you could always try adding a switch to the stock ones but then you have to get into the wiring of the car and you'll probably get bulb out malfunctions.
I have Bi-Xeon (Lighting package) on my 03 CLK320 and i believe it is exactly same as W203 Bi-Xeon. It looks great but the parking lamps W5W (little one below the high beam) is very yellow. I want to change it to whiter/bluer color lamps. Did you guys change to whiter/bluer light and which one would you recommand? Can someone give me the brand/model and web site.
Thanks.
