Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought supercharger share oil with the engine (motor oil)

The Eaton M45 has its own oil that is used to lubricate the bearings in the snout. I'm not sure how someone would service that on the car though - seems like it would be hard to get to. It's certainly difficult on the M111 cars, I can only imagine how hard it would be on the M271 cars. Luckily the SC oil should be a "lifetime" fluid (i.e. good for 100K miles) If you're going to pull of the SC to change the fluid, that might be a good time to port the SC and maybe rebuild the snout too...

There's no access to drain and change the oil, it's a lifetime fill.
If you are changing the oil, it's time to do the seals, etc. and heck, port it while yer at it.

I installed my pulley at 50K miles (car now has 74K miles) and that was about 2 years ago. Install wasn't too bad and the results are very noticeable. People do run lean with the pulley but I haven't heard of any failures due to running lean since most people don't drive at WOT all the time.Originally Posted by cla 1000

I paid for the pulley and the core charge. I believe ASP will reimburse you for the core once they receive it back. I elected to keep mine since, if I ever sell the car, I'll want to return it to stock.

One of the shops that worked on my car said it had a fill and drain plug... this has not been the experience of others?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check out this thread in the C32 forum, it has all the answers on where to buy the oil and how to change it. Relatively cheap and easy.

ExploreThere is a drain plug on the front. I tried to open it while the M45 was off the car.
No dice.
Your best bet, is keep your eyes open for new one on ebay, swap it before it dies and
sell the old one.
I did that, 650 for new, old one sold for 250, so I'm only out about 400 for a new one instead of rebuilt.

If Eaton are doing as they should the SC should be filled for life with a Diester synthetic which will outlast the unit comfortably. Just leave it alone until you need a new one.
