Last night my driver's seat that slides back and forth for the Convenience feature of Easy Exit/Enter stopped working. The steering wheel still goes up and down when you open the door or start the engine. This feature is still set to steering wheel/seat in the MFD so I have no idea why the seat isn't working. Any ideas before I set up an appointment with my local dealer? Thanks in advance.

Are you still under warranty? If so, I had mine fixed under warranty. This was happening to me after the 1st year I had the car. Brought it in, but can't remember the exact fix.

It was a while ago, but it was covered under warranty is all that I remember.

Does all your power seat controls work like normal still?

Power seat controllers seem to be a fairly common problem on these cars.

Yep, I'm still under warranty.

Same situation here. I don't have warranty though. Any idea on the cost for the fix. My seats still work as normal, just the easy exit/entrance isn't working but the steering wheel still goes up and down.

Had a failed computer with another Mercedes-Benz car in the garage. Try holding the power seat button to make the lower seat cushion to go forward. Don't release the switch after the seat stops, continue holding the button in the same fashion for another 10 seconds. This resets the computer. This isn't supposed to remedy your situation but it might help.

Sometimes, the oddest things can be fixed with a quick resynchronization.

could be a seat module or door module problem. my key doesn't keep the seat memory so i have this replaced and it works fine now.

Patrick is right, the seat track is particularly good at trapping things (pens, change, other objects) that can foul the movement of the seat, if this binding happens the seat needs to be re-synchronized (and the object needs to be removed too) to regain the full travel and entry/exit movement. How do I know this, only Mont-Blanc knows.

I think my steering easy exit/entry went out awhile ago as well. I know when I stick the key or out...the motor makes the noise as if it suppose to move, but it doesn't. My problem is I couldn't remember if it ever moved or not..lol

I followed your direction and it worked. My driver's seat is back to normal again. I guess it just needed to be reset. Thanks for saving me a trip to the dealer. I know they would've made a big issue out of it and replace something that isn't broken or needed.

I have a 07 C230 and the only thing that it does for easy enter and exit is move the steering wheel up and down. Is it suppose to move my seat too?

Do you have multi-contour power seats? (Used to be called convenience package, but not sure if they retained that name after 2004).

If you do, you should be able to go through the settings and set it up for the seat to move back when you exit...Although, I do remember that when the 2005 models were released, there had been some discoveries that there were certain functions that were taken out (i.e. Radio could not filter through from pre-set station to station, only scan frequencies).

i only set steering wheel for easy exit/entry...
had bad experience with seats and never fixed/used it since then...

I don't know, mj. My parents had bad experiences with Extended Warranty because the dealership was so stingy (which is why I didn't buy it). They were having problems with the sunroof on their w210, but were not willing to cover it under warranty, so they had it fixed by an independent for cheaper.

Never hurts to try to have them cover it, but I don't know if they'll charge you if it is not part of the extended.

I have seats with memory. Where the controls for the seats are on the door.

What ever that package is called what it also has to do with something with the steering wheel that makes it go in and out and up and down. I think "tele.." something. Im not that great of a speller.

You should be able to go into your settings area and set the telescope to move up and seats to move back when you exit your vehicle.

Like I said earlier, I'm not sure if they took the function away when the system was changed to MOST in 2005. I know they took some functions away, but the only one I could remember was the one where you couldn't cycle through the pre-set radio stations with the steering wheel buttons (only cycle through the different frequencies).

Read the terms carefully in the extended warranty. I happen to have Extended Warranty as well (but I don't have the paperwork nor the car with me at this precise moment) and I'd be curious to know if it's covered.

They list everything that's covered. A lot of the optional extra electrical devices aren't covered so be wary.

my 07 doesnt adjust the seat upon exiting (just the wheel).

the steering wheel buttons can be toggled to do frequency or preset thru the settings/preferences menu....

still am looking into the seat - slide though.........

i had the same problem.... one day my seat stopped moving back with the easy exit/entry option still on. my seat worked fine if i used the button to move the seat foward and back so i just turned the esy exit/entry option off....

about a month later i tried the resync feature that one of the other members on here suggested...... while doing the resync my seat got stuck in the forward most position.... this time i could not move my seat forward or back... only up or down.... replaced drivers door module and drivers side seat module with no resolution to the problem. took the car to the dealer and it ended up being a bad motor. had motor replaced and it ran me about 400 bucks.

sooo... if you want to try to replace the door and seat modules to see if it rectifies your problem.. i have both that are brand new that i would sell... you.

Ah, see. I knew there were certain things that MB cut back on after switching to MOST.

I just couldn't remember all of them. So, now I'll remember (no pre-set to pre-set function for radio stations and no seat convenience).

weird how some (good) items are left out in further model years....

but i can go pre-set to pre-set OR by frequency (by switching this in one of the user-menus)

Yea i does suck how they took that out of the 07's. If they did. I will find out soon enough. I have to go to the dealership for my 1K mile check up.

I will ask to see if indeed its suppose to do that and if it isnt if i can have it programmed to do do.

What im thinking what happened is that is caused some problems so they took it out.
