Well the tubing did not arrive early enough today. I will have that on tomorrow. Just with the baffle on the supercharger off there is a difference in sound and mid range tq. I will update more tomorrow.

Thumbs up

OK guys..... It now sounds like there is an Eaton roots supercharger on my car...... Well thats because there is! Now you can hear it....Loud and Clear.

Not overwhelming like a Kenne Bell on a cobra, but just loud enough for some ricer to think twice to race our slow cars.

I will try to get video this weekend.

CarQuest part # 22193
It is a large radiator hose with a angled ends. It has to be cut to length so measure 3x and cut once. Make sure you get the angles correct. It took me 15 mins.

I wish I could actually follow what you're saying, I'd love to hear the SC whine more often.

I second that. Not sure where this is/how it's done in the M271, but I'm very interested.

EDIT*: Nevermind.. I found it

It will have to have a k&n small breather put on it. That will also help with the oil getting into the intake.
I tried the carquest search to no avail.. Found this Gates radiator hose that seems up to your specs (24", 2.5" diam - although it's black w/ green stripe...would like to find a chrome or black one)

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/rafr...2&a=FR64-26532

2 questions:
*Could someone explain the deal with the crank breather? (My assumption is that it has to do with that little hose connected to the supercharger box muffler. Is this crank breather attached to this, and by removing this hose you have to pop a filter on instead and have it draw in air from the engine bay? Any part # info?)
*What's up with the baffle inside the supercharger intake. Is that something that can just be taken out on its own, or does it need to be replaced by something?

heres the M271 link

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...art-1-2-a.html

I'm really thinking about doing this

any opinions/advice/things to look out for?

EDIT: I think I've answered all my questions except one. What's the deal with the crank breather? Thats the little tube/rubber pipe running from the baffle...right? If I take out the SC Intake thing there will be a hole (where the pipe used to connect to)....what do I need to do about that?

Thanks for any help....I really want to do this

Awesome! This needs to be a DIY sticky!

Edit:

There was a hose that used to run into the resonator. What did you do with the hole that it used to connect to?

ok so I took it off...

I just took off the hose for the crank breather (like other people did)....no CEL or anything

and I seem to have lost a lot of torque and the car is very jerky when it shifts.

the sound is kind of weird....not really like a SC whine, more like a high pitched "noise". idk....everyone was staring at me as I was driving (only at like 2500-3000 rpm)

hopefully everything will be resolved when I put a tube/pipe in where the intake res. used to be.

what do you think?

So, you still have your SC res on, you just took the hose in question off?

(mods, can you merge the 2 threads?)

no no no haha

I took off everything (SC res. and the hose in question)

I think I have such ****ty performance b/c I haven't replaced the SC res. with a pipe, so there is no direct airflow. Everything should be fine(even better than stock) when I put a hose/pipe in.....I hope

EDIT: pic of my engine bay

The two ends circled in Blue need to be connected (thats where the SC Res. was)

The hose circled in Red is what we were talking about (I just disconnected it from the SC Res., I need to remove it)

Just for fun, the area circled in Green is where the intake goes

Gotcha. So are you going to do that "ram air" intake mod as well?

I'm thinking about doing this mod as well, but i want to get my car Dyno'd first to see what it's doing stock and to see what differences this mod will do. Unfortunately I won't be able to do this til after the holidays.

What is that thing that the hose circled in red connected to?

haha well....if you click the link in my sig. you'll see I made the ram/scoop intake. I repainted it though, so it looks a bit better now. I took it out so that I would have more room to work in the engine bay

thats a good idea....have car dyno'd stock you can actually see what gains you get from mods.

I think that the hose is for the "crank breather" What is does....idk. It was diconnected and I drove like 2 miles...no CEL; so I guess its ok haha

any body have any idea what type of hose to use? Some said scilicone (but thats a lot of $$$) Others said a type of radiator hose....I'm leaning towards that becasue its cheap, easy to cut, and should be heat resistant enough

ideas?
