Or for really tight garages. Of course, the C-class is a pretty narrow car in the first place (not to mention ridiculously small mirrors to boot), so it isn't really needed in most locales in the U.S.
If you parallel park consistently on busy streets or consistently in tight garages, it provides a comfort a guess, but I've yet to be in spot where I thought "gee, I really need folding mirrors here."
On an SUV or large sedan, that is a different story (ever seen the mirrors on a Ford Excursion?).

Thanks

I just use my power folding mirrors to make it vissible from far that I actually locked my car - so much easier then having to look for the blinkers to blink...

on every car i've previously owned the mirrors could be folded in manually but on the C class they can't even do that so if you don't have power folding mirrors on your merc you're SOL

MBENZNL, SUNMAN and myself + 2005 owners all have the power auto-folding option.

This can be retrofitted.

my 2002 sedan w203 has folding/dimming mirrors. what extra hardware I need to make them auto-folding? Or it is just a matter of software coding/programming my car? Any part numbers would be appreciated if it is a matter of hardware. kind regards

Someone like benzmodz or MBenzNL can correct me, but I think with a 2002 MY you will need to replace the front SAM module to make them autofolding with the remote lock.

there have been ton of posts (SUNMAN / BENZMODZ / MBENZNL / JOHNCL / MBBODYTECH / etc ) showing all the hidden features that a new SAM will provide.

That's the first thing i'm doing to both my C's when i get back home someday.

greetingz,
Steve,

If you can get the front SAM for less expensive, I might be interested in replacing this, so that we can activate the auto folding option (through remote key).

Also, on a side note, I'm noticing condensation recently in the side blinkers (obviously, when the mirrors are folded). Is this just something I should've anticipated or is it most likely the blinkers not being completely installed tight enough?

Any 411 you could give me would be great. As for the pricing on the SAM, if you and Wanda could email me the info, that'd be great.

Thanks.

the blinkers, foglights and headlights all have openings to allow possible condensation (due to high humidity and temp changes) to disapear again - condensation is normal (not obvious on lights with frosted lenses - easy to see on lights with clear lenses), water is not normal.

greetingz,
Thanks, Steve! That answers my question perfectly. BTW, don't forget to email me info on the SAM.
