Yeah, that is what it would look like. Yeah, I think the black would look best. Those pictures do bring out the true look. Most of the pics I see don't do the grille justice.

CL Grille or Sport Grille
Hello Everyone! I'm actually new to this site since I just bought my '05 C230 brilliant silver about 2 weeks ago. Already I want to change a few things. Like several people here, I want to change the hood emblem and the grille. I'm planning on buying it from Jerry of 4mymercedes.
However, I can't decide which one to get. There is the CL grille both with brilliant silver and another with black 6.5" star.
Then there's the sport grille (basically it looks like the OEM with a 5.5" star). Does anyone have a photo of their car with this grille on their C230 sport? I've seen several pictures on here with the CL grille on different models.

just got my cl grille.... It looks great large 6.5 star. I think with black fins and chrome edges. It looks wonderful. I will post pics as soon as I put it on the car.

Personally, for the flat hood emblem, 
for the large star on the grill...too much logo/emblem. Just my personnal opinion. It's your car...do what you think is best...Congrats for your new ride.

i got my black/chrome "prestige" grille from formymercedes. at first, Jerry had a 4 slat prestige grille (pre 05), but then told him that the '05s have only 3. Ihe recently updated it. btw, i got the flat hooded emblem from him too. hope this helps.

Check this thread for pics of my old C32 w/ the CL Expression Grille. Nothing looks better on a C-Class then the Expression Grille, not even close!

thanks, dont get me wrong i much prefer any of the modded grilles to the stock one which 'dates' the car but again looks like prestige is stock grill with star 'on top'
can you confirm this, better still post close up pic of way star is attched
has the grill been 'cut' to accomodate star or is it proud of original grill
sorry but i'm picky
by ths way i think prestige grill would look alot better without the upright chrome pieces showing above and below the star which would give it th 'floating' cl look, maybe the could be cut out or even just painted black

also, a vendor blackforestconcepts (no spaces) sells them to dealerships. as a consumer, you'l pay the markup prices as you would when buying directly from the dealership.
hopefully, this close up picture will provide some answers for you.
