as far as the tip, I had them remove the stocker and weld it in place on the outlet of the flowmaster. again, a no brainer. take it to a local muffler shop that has been around forever and has 40-50 year old guys who'll do the work. preferrably find a shop that still uses NO computers. Be cautious about taking it to a chain muffler shop of any kind. Its usually a bunch of kids who have no idea what they're doing, cant weld a straight bead line to save their life, and will put it in their computer under a customer muffler job and itll cost $200+
where to buy? ill get you the PN but I suggest eBay or Summit.
weight difference? lighter than stock I'd say for sure, contact flowmaster for official weight.
power gain? trivial. slight seat of the pants difference? for sure! I think this is the same for any exhaust system for our cars. dont expect to make an impact on a dyno worth mentioning. this is why i cant justify spending $600 on an exhaust system personally. anyway, you'll be doing this mod for mostly the joy of the new powerful throaty tone.
most people come on here and just prop whatver muffler they're running just because that's what people do. I'm no GURU but ive been around the block in regards to many a cars, and I can honestly say this is the perfect exhaust for our car if you want powerful and throaty but not obnoxious/cant hear yourself think. interior resonance is next to nil, same goes for drone. if you ever find yourself wanting a little more noise, you can always remove the two smaller resonators in the y-pipe. that said, its plenty loud without crossing the line.
and while no way to quantify a power gain, i can say my MPG improved. I more quickly achieve better MPG per computer than before. aka if it took 20 minutes of highway driving for computer to say i was getting 30mpgs, now it only takes 10.
ill be back with a PN#.

I was wondering what it would sound like but cant find any sound clips
ps Karo's car sounds amazing in person
I really want to upgrade to a better sounding muffler too, but do you hear the noise inside the cabin??? see I drive 100 miles everyday and after a while it will start giving me a head ach..........but on my civic which was my previous car (for MPG purpose) I had installed an HFP muffler which was a great upgrade and did not bother me at all in all the driving that I did........so my requirement would be some thing that is throaty at low rpm but quieter as the rpm goes higher....am i correct in this assumption??? if I am then which muffler would be bets suited to my need.....I am a rookie in this field so any help would be much appreciated...........one of the biggest reason why I bought a merc is because of its sound insulating characteristics and I am afraid that this mod would completed kill this..........any insight????

flowmaster 50 series delta flow
the delta flow includes a specially designed baffle to deflect interior resonance.
my muffler does exactly as you wish, a low throaty rumble at lower RPMs and does not increase in interior resonance as the RPMs go up. I have more resonance and drone at low RPMs than I do with highway driving. On the highway, it's damn near stock inside the cabin.
Again, this weekend I'll get videos inside and out of my car. obviously my 3.5 is going to sound a little different, but I had it on m 2.5L and it also had an awesome tone. wasnt quite as mean as the 3.5 sounds, but it was also just as you said you want. the only trick will be to not remove any of the resonators.
give me a day or two and you all will hear
