I've got the 18's on mine--for the summer only. I put winter tires on my stocks.

sorry to hijack but its on topic and may be relevant/helpful to you.
to anyone that has had 19's on for a while, does it affect your car in any way? i was reading a post about how bigger wheels may wear some of the parts of your car down quicker than smaller ones. i would hate to spend a lot of money on 19's and then have it harm my car in any way just for style points.
and would continually switching between 19's and 17's back and forth, say 19's for the summer and 17's for the winter hurt anything?

As long as your offset and tire sizing is correct, then you shouldn't have any problems with 19's. I was going to go for 18's for weight savings, but ultimately decided on 19's for looks (since performance isn't really a strong point of the C230) and overall feel. The shop I went to actually let me test drive a set of 19's and I was sold immediately. They helping "plant" the car more on the road, feedback wise at least. I suggest reading the wheel thread and going by your gut feeling...

Yeah Ill be getting 18s for sure now. I live in LA and the weather is ridiculous during some months, not to mention the roads here can be treacherous in some parts.
I found some guy whose going to purchase my stock rims/tires for 750$, now I just need to find someone reliable selling the Monoblocks w/ tires in the SoCal area!
P.S. Stock rims were 17*7 not 18*8.. sorry about that.

hahahaha, cold weather.... around here???? go to michigan one day in january and then tell me what cold weather really is. if i can wear a t-shirt all year long around here, that is not cold.
good job on selling your stock rims for that, that is a good price. i agree with you about the roads, when i go up to LA i notice how bad the roads are, except near bev hills for some reason...

18's over 19's
-low profile tires get expodentially more expensive with every inch
-19's cost more
-wheels are more prone to bending
-only 2% of people will notice the difference
you'll get a bigger "wow" factor from choosing unique rims than choosing one that many people have but one inch bigger.

WOW i was gonna consider 19" monoblock vi reps, and i live in Los Angeles, but after all the feedback, i really dont know if i should go with the 18"s or 19"s...
i think 18"s are for performance
19"s are for looks

nothing bad about 19" and for some rims you can def tell the differene between 18" and 19" mostly by the how much tire is sticking out...i personally dont like all that must tire, and at least when it comes to the monoblock VI i've always been drawn to the 19" more than the 18" (which i find out afterwards when i ask them what size their wheels are)...weird i know but thats just what it is

Voted 19"
I m happy with my 18 but I should've gone 19" because the drop look way better with 19. The difference in gap between wheel lip and fender would be more even. No body will notice it, I a gree, but I will, I do.
Now saying that 19 would be more prone to bending than 18, I'm skeptical. A pot hole that would be deep enough to bend the 19 would do the same for 18 because the difference is only 1". Now befor someone jump on my head, the reason I am saying that is because my common sens tells me as I go bigger in wheel size, I should add more psi to the tire inflation.
Now, anyone who disagree with what I've said, I respect the opinion, but buy my rims so I could get some 19

lol you went with bbs wheels...of course they're gonna be lighter...and 16lbs is not gonna create that big of a difference maybe rwhp that you could count on less than one hand...especially since he doesnt have an AMG...until i own a car where performance is a greater factor on that vehicle than its looks, then yes i agree i'd go with the 18's for handle and weight but until then, i 'll stick with looks...imo as usual

i think that if you go for the monoblock vi reps, or just the vi's in general, the 19"s are more a popular choice

it's not about having an AMG or not.
