Any more opinions/updates on performance gains?

I'm just not sure if $650+ is worth it to me for a "throatier" exhaust

i drive same car as you... 03 coupe 6speed. and its more than just a "throatier" exhaust. there was a before/after dyno floating around that showed 20 hp / 20 tq gain. and believe me, you can feel it above 3k rpm. its so much more fun to drive now.

i highly recommend. just make sure to ask for the missing washer to be included.

Great headers!

Rollnnn, I left you some mail, but I figured we ought to memorialize it a post. I'd love to get the PN and source for those headers. I had a hard time finding any info on them up here in Seattle.

Also, can you feel a difference in power?

SICK ride. Keep it up!

after driving around awhile with the headers, i can definitely tell there is a nice gain. Definitely worth the money. Yes you can feel it above 3k rpm. Even though im more of a cruiser, i find myself gunnin it a little more...

like i said i cruise more than anything and its been almost 2 months so i think its broken in, i'm noticing my mpg has slightly gone up, very slight, but its something...

the car looks good.

holy ****, Roland, were you in West LA, specifically Santa Monica going east into BH after the 405 turning into a plaza just after Sepulveda a few weeks ago? I didn't know your car had blue tint on the headlights, I could have sworn it was your car, but what got me was that (I think at least) it had paper plates.

I don't really remember. I'm out on the west side alot, but haven't been in the SM area or West of the 405 for awhile. I was driving into BH on Pico blvd from the 405 a couple weekends ago, on a saturday, but other than that im occasionally driving from Hollywood area into Century City, or LAX area.... maybe it was my twin...

ROLLNNN,
did you change anything else aside from the HU? What I mean is the factory amp, speakers, etc. Also, how much did the install run you?

Thanks Phil. I do not believe i have the HK system in my car.

Seriously finding an installer was a pain in the ***. I went to 5 different shops and none of them really knew anything about my car. I went to a few of what i thought were high end shops that work on MB's all the time. Nobody knew if i had an external amp, and if i did if i could use it or not, and id have to run new wires to all speakers, some thought i might have to get a new amp, or might need new speakers because the stock ones might be 2 ohm.... i really thought i could find someone who knew this car in and out and could just do the install without any problems...

Brandon(OCKlasse) told me about Gold Star Audio in Irvine, they were the first shop i talked to who seemed confident enough for the install and have done it many times.

When i got there, Jay told me the install was straight up, just need the wiring harness, the antenna adapter and the scosche dash kit... It took about an hour and it was done...

All the other shops made it seem like it was going to be way harder than it was.... Al & Eds on Santa Monica and La Cienega told me it would take 4 hours and they charge $250 an hour?? wtf!! $1000 to install???

One thing that gold star told me was, as of now there is no way to hook up the steering controls on my car. They said there are no kits YET? anyone know if this is true?? i really want to use the steering controls...

Right now i just did the HU. stock speakers. The shop told me i didn't have an external amp in my car. I thought i did, but maybe not.. Everything sounds good. I might upgrade later on, but its fine for now. The install + antenna adapter $125 at Gold Star audio in Irvine. I think they charge $95 for just an install. Pretty good price compared to all the other shops i went to.

Thanks! Ill probably do BIX sometime, but i kinda like the look of my lights with the blue film. I also have 55w HID's in there so its pretty bright...

yeah, so far im loving this thing. I don't have an ipod though so i definitely need to pick one up. The one thing that sucks is, i thought you could play movies through an external hard drive. I guess you cant, only through an ipod.. this sucks cuz every shop i asked told me it was possible... oh well

man.. thats great news. I don't have the HK system either so i'm hoping my factory stereo is similar to yours. I also heard from 3 different shops that it takes a ton of work to just swap out the HU. That's the reason why I asked about speakers & factory amp. I was also told, to change the OEM HU, i'd have to change my speakers, factory amp, and rewire the whole dang car for the new speakers. and $125??? that's GREAT! I was quoted $400 for labor only. Those P#nk$!!!
