M271 pulley + ECU tune combo
I have been in touch with a guy at LET Motorsports and they recently developed a crank pulley which they are selling in combo with an ECU tune (which includes adjusting to your specific current setup --> ex: kleemann headers, etc...) They are in the process of getting a dyno, and it seems to be a good deal overall. The price would be $699 and they ship a kit which allows you to flash your ecu after they do the tuning at their site (corrected...)
Has anyone heard of them or used their services before?
I'll post the dyno as soon as he does it and emails it over to me.
Here's their site: http://www.letmotorsports.com/

"You won't tune the car. The unit I'm sending you is basically a flash tool. We do the tuning here, send the file to the computer that comes with the kit, transfer the tune file to the handheld, you flash the car with the handheld."

Oh, thats still awesome. Its sound much less painful then removing the ECU + sending it to them. Is this how LET is doing all of their future flash tunes?

I'm also on AbsolutelyDriven.com, and from what I've read, the members who have used their ecu flashing and are happy... as soon as I hear anything I'll let you guys know. but from what I read at the other forum, I think I'm gonna go with it once its available.

Guys - We have created a new supercharger pulley for the 1.8L Engines and a crank pulley ring for the 2.3L Engines.
We will hopefully dyno the C230 again later this week or next with with the pulley, tune, and headers.
Here are some pics.
Keep in mind we are currently testing 2 different sizes. The material will be steel, either stainless or heat treated steel.
The install will be easy, and the price will be very affordable for the pulley and tune combo.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at sales@letmotorsports.com
Thanks,
Jerry

guys, LET has been tuning Mercedes for quite some time (look at C32 and E55 forums)
They have constantly been providing better numbers than powerchip and the like....
This is a great thing for the 271 guys....

Very interesting... so for my 1.8l Kompressor you have a pulley and a ECU? what power increase are we talking about?

one thing i'm not entirely solid on is:
how do you take in account if the person already has headers in the ecu tune if it is pre-programed before you mail it?
(unless you have a car with the similar headers in house which you can tune with the pulley... but i feel like thats unlikely)

I trust these guys 100% I have been in contact with Jerry at L.E.T motorsports and he is sending me the pulley. He told me about it when they came to the Norcal dyno tuning. I will try to provide pics of the install of the pulley and then post up vids aswell. And I will try to get on the dyno and post up results. I seriously just can't wait for the pulley already

The C230 that we installed headers on had a baseline dyno before the mods (he had powerchip software). We then tuned the car with the headers and he has been driving the car over the past few weeks waiting on the pulley to come in.
Now that the pulley is here, we are going to test both pulley sizes on the dyno with his headers installed.
I'm shipping a pulley (size TBD) to TAZIM (who already has our software flash) in CA. He will then get on the dyno so we can tune around the pulley on his lovely 91 octane.
Numbers have yet to be released because we simply don't know. I have both pulleys in hand, waiting on the C230 for installation.
Better?

Here are some goals I'm trying to meet. When the project is done (within two weeks), I would like to know the following.
1. Stock power vs. Stage I Power (Stage I = Pulley and Tune)
2. Stock power vs. Stage II Power (Stage II = Stage I + Long Tube Headers)
3. Stage I vs. Stage II Power
4. Stage I (93 octane) vs. Stage I (91 Octane - CA)
5. 1/4 Mile Results
Are there any other C230's in Chicago that want to jump in and help us out??
