C32 AMG Brake Upgrade Discussion Thread

In your case, gaiex, with your '04.5, you can purchase the C32 AMG brake pads (for the front) and they would work fine with your '04.5. Either that or you can go with Porterfield fronts or others. No matter what, those with the '04.5 have a few options.
Another thing I was thinking about is that, the one reason I could come up with of why the Sport Sedan calipers were more expensive is based on the fact that they were only available for that particular year (2004.5) until they changed the 2005 to 2 piston calipers. The AMG C32 calipers are available for 2001-2004. In essence, there will be more C32's that would need the AMG calipers than there would be 2004.5 owners that need the sport sedan calipers...(i.e. Supply and demand).

I have the AMG upgrade. Big differance is the look. The only time you will notice improved braking is during heavy and repeated stops.
I have AMG 17" wheels and I clear. I think your 19s should fit. You really don't want to go with spacers.
Does anyone know what year the C32 AMG brake upgrade is from? I"m due to order rotors and Porterfield pads, but I need to know what year the upgrade is from since I don't know the part #s

aren't the c32 and c55 amg brakes the same anyway???
I went ahead and ordered them because I was there today getting all the stuff to do the heated seats. So I thought what the heck. So off to the garage for beer and fun.

Anyway, I had no choice, C32 brakes fit snugly behind my 17" rims - the 6pot ones required 18" rims.

i havent seen any other c55s with that option coz its way too expensive. considering the car alone costs approx US$186000!! don't think too many pple are going to pay some more.
BTW your car is one SIIIIIIIICCCCK ride!! Love it! Anyway, your car is so damn rare in singapore. Ive actually only seen 1 (silver)!
14.2" compound two-piece perforated and ventilated front
discs with AMG 6-piston calipers
composite brake discs 360 x 32mm
20% lighter than normal.
13.0" ventilated rear discs with AMG 4-piston calipers.
Best Regards.
so heres teh question... I currently have a 03 C320 coupe, and I think the rear calipers for the amgs are the same..Is it ok if I just change the rotors not the calipers not brake lines? or is it ok If i just change the front calipers, new pads old rotors and (do i need to change brakelines? Im guessing a yes) if anyone can, please let me know, i'm dropping my car off at service next week and i'm hoping or order it then

the rear calipers are different and so are the discs. stock is using a 1 pot caliper with solid rotors. the c32 has a 2 pot caliper with ventilated rotors.
for both the front and back, you need new rotors, calipers and pads. you can keep your stock brake lines.
since most of the braking is done in front, you might want to consider just changing the fronts. however, on my car, there was a noticeable difference in stopping power when i just had the amg fronts and the stock rears as compared to when i had the amg rears installed as well. much better braking balance and stops faster too!
