Key fob issue
The RF mode never works, and the IR mode works as long as it's not raining. When it's dry out, the IR mode works just fine. I checked fuse 8 and it's not blown. We've tried resyncing and the shop has also. Still have the problem.
Anyone have any ideas? The only other problem with the car is that the rear window sunshade doesn't know when to stop and has to be turned off manually. I don't know how that could be related, but you never know... .

When you say the RF mode never works, do you notice something like "the car wont unlock when you're far away"? What physical problem do you see?

what does re syncing mean? i have never heard of a way to re sync a new Mercedes key? hope the shop didn't charge you.
i assume you have tried new batteries as well + spare key?
as for the raining part that is wired did you try both sensors?
Have you installed tint?

Resynched is probably the wrong term. The dealer reset the car and re-added the fobs, like when it's made. That seemed to work until the car left the lot and then stopped again.
I'll check out the RF amp. If it's bad, that could explain why it seems random. If I can get the RF mode working, the IR mode doesn't matter as much.
And there's no tint on the car. Batteries in the fobs are new. Both fobs have the issue.
1. Your car could be forgetting the keys (aunts car did this)
2. Antenna out (many people with tint)
3. both key fobs are dead (they get abused)
do both ir sensors have problems in the rain or just one? (one early w203 they had a sensor in both front doors)
i have also read that when the rf amp goes out radio stations get worse how are yours?
