So there is a new "unannounced" campaign from MB to finally fix the leaking cam sensors and the damage it does to the wiring harness. This is an unannounced campaign, so you will need to specifically ask for this from your SA, as MB did not send out notices to owners or make any public announcement.
I am not sure of the campaign #, or the MY's covered, so call your SA with your VIN and check. I have heard this should cover 03-05 M271's, however I can't confirm this.
The dealer will replace the Camshaft Adjustment Solenoids and install new adapter harnesses free of charge.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Now if they would only replace the Fading Multi Function Display on the pre-facelift ...

That means there must be a TSB to dealers. Let's try & establish the number.

The question is whether or not this supercedes a previous service campaign.
I already brought my car in once for this; does that mean I have to bring it in again? Sometimes the same part gets updated multiple times.

i blew an 02 sensor a few months back... could this be related to the leaky cam shaft?
i just heard about this today and made an appointment at the dealership monday to fix. i wish i could have them pay me for the 02 sensor too.
excuse my novice question: could these two be related?

Attachment 182423My 2004.5 c230K SS has 42000 miles, and have no warning lights
. Checked both Cam Sensors(info from forum) by removing the plugs, and found both has residue oil. Replaced both sensors, and added Isolation wires. This is my second MB, and am now thinking that I made a mistake with this model, with all the problems I see on the Forums. I bought this car second hand, and only have had it for a few months. I trust my Honda more
. Checked with the Dealer and there are no recalls or TSB for this car.
