if this is true, WOW

Mercedes is developing a new twin-turbo 5.5L V8 for the next iteration of the C63, which should also fit under the hood of the coupe.
i can imagine mercedes changing the two transmission modes from Comfort and Sport to.....Comfort and Melt Tires

Wow, 5.5 TT sounds good.

Now give it a manny (doubtful for girly American market), and it will be able to compete with the 1 (for the most part - won't match the tuning options of the 1, and will probably lose the weight battle as well). Otherwise, it's a niche a new ccoupe would not compete in, and it will again be an old fart on a budget car like the CL203 is, except for a select few here (you know who you are!).

Definitely consider a coupé like that when our 15-year-old has flown the coop.
Curious if the forthcoming DI TT is based upon their M156 or M272 architecture -
each superb powerplants in their own right.

I’d certainly enjoy modifying one of ‘em, even if Affalterbach is already hard after it.

I read about this over the weekend, and it got me excited. If its true, and the acquired target is the 135, hopefully MB mans up and gets a better manual, possibly from an outside company.

No offense to everyone and I know I'll sound like an idiot when I say this but I would prefer something like BMW's DCT over the Manual.

Maybe it's me being stuck in traffic for an hour every weekday that makes me think like this. Los Angeles traffic FTW

I feel manual transmissions here in the US or where I live are slowly becoming unpopular.

If I lived in a place of heavy traffic, I guess it would get old. But my C230 is automatic. I'm gonna make a bold prediction - the 135i/335i will remain the better performer. Oh wait, I guess that's not bold at all.. that's how it always is. Benz can't touch BMW in dynamics.. old news. My guess is that the new TT V6 from Benz will be offered as automatic only.

It better not look like the new 2011 E Class coupe.

Take the C coupe over the E Coupe anyday of the week.

Here is one for you guys who don't have time to blowdry your hair in the mornings.

The more I see these pictures the more I believe the C coupe and E Coupe are based off each other. They look very similar just styling is a little different.

Why camo shots of the E coupe? The car has been released for quite a while and I like it.

Because the professional ones make the car look 10 times nicer. At car and driver it said New 2011 but they did have 2011 regular ones too. The Spy one really tell a different story (like those celebrities. In magazines they look 10/10 but in real life 5/10) looool

I just hate the E class coupe. I'm not even going to comment on the Cabrio.

That's just me. Also If the pic is the C class coupe that's really going to hit the marked then that looks semi bad. Not as bad as the E class. I guess since i'm not a coupe guy I can never look at these coupes the loving way you guys do. lol

Edit
Do you know if they changed anything for the 2011? Did the body slightly change? Lights maybe?
I don't know because I haven't been following up on these cars.

I hate coupes, no matter what car company they are from. If there is a sedan version available, I buy it - it is more functional and, IMO, always the better looking one. There was no sedan version of the 135i (and 335i sedan was $7,000 more at minimum). It takes something pretty compelling to make me consider a coupe.

The 135i looks real nice. BMW has always done a good job with their coupes. Especially with BMW's manual (which I think they have amazing manual transmission-even though I prefer auto for everyday traffic driving) I think they did a fabulous job (sporty car feel and look and a great manual transmission to go with it).

I wold take BMW's manual then Audi's manual although I have never driven a manual Benz from what I hear it isn't that great. I also drove a manual CTS-V (not the new one) and their manual felt a little too comfortable. I want it to be rough and hard (that's what she said) so you can actually feel you are driving a sports car.

The 135i isn't much smaller than the e46.

If I were going to buy a 3-series, I'd buy a sedan for sure. I'd love a 335d. Or an M3 Sedan.

For now, though, the 135i is sooo much fun.

Benz should just fit a ZF MT - I was going to suggest Getrag but they can also be notchy.

For me - Auto or DCT.

It's funny you say that. At the last meet I said the same (prefer the M3 Sedan over the Coupe) and everyone looked at me as if I were

I'm assuming you don't like the 1 hatch either? I am in love with the 5-door version - they're so much more popular in Europe and Mexico (I don't even know if I saw a coupe in Mexico, but did see them very infrequently in Europe).

From the news over at 1 addicts (with the reliability of my car, I'm always looking for my next baby, since it's got one foot in the grave), they will be starting to offer the DCT relatively soon on the 1. I'd still prefer a manny, though.

For my money, Honda's manuals have always been my favorites (especially with a short shift kit). Mercedes should be ashamed of their manuals.

Is this sort of to replace the CLC coupe that's available in Europe? I definately like the audi/porsche inspired fog light strip in the first white pic.

From the heavily disquised final facelift W204 cars under endurance testing here - it appears that new tail lights that extend in some way into the trunk lid are on the cards. I think a variation of this will find it's way onto the Coupe.

Benz have to let the 203 platform go sooner or later.
