The engine will just stop for 1-2 seconds, and all the warning lights will come up, then engine starts again and all warning lights off. I've had the same thing happened 4 TIMES while i was driving on the road. It was pretty scary. I had my car go to the service 3 times for the same issue, but they couldn't find anything out.

I'm at 20,400 miles in 8 months and have never had this problem. If the dealer can't fix it - scare them into fixing it by using the phrase "lemon law'!

Never had that happen. I'm surprised the dealer couldn't find anything wrong. You might want to try another dealer, and you might want to give MBUSA a call.

Dealers are not affectted whatsoever by the the lemon law and if you rub it in their face they will just laugh at you behind your back. The lemon law affects manufacturers, so if you want anyones attention, you'll need a lawyer, MB won't really talk to mere mortals like us.

This happened to my car once. I was going 60mph on the highway. The car stalled for a second and then restarted automatically. Others here have experienced this also. Some believe it to be a fuel delivery problem. My MB Tech replaced the fuse box under the hood. I have not experienced the problem since. I am hoping it is fixed, but time will tell. I have owned my car for one year with 30k miles and hoping to run it for 150k miles.

Buell is right, youre just going to **** the dealer off if you try that. Besides, corporate makes the call on buybacks. Does anyone actually ask thier dealer to fix things first anymore, before throwing the trump card down and *****ing about it here?

Nope, everyone *****es about it here. They think their car is terrible because something went wrong. And everyone thinks they have a lemon just because it had to go into the shop. OK, not everyone. Just certain people.

But I bet less than 1% of these people would actually go through the whole lemon law process and lawsuit. Hopefully they feel better after *****ing here.

OK, I'm ready to be flamed now.

Definately a problem, man. I've been abusing the **** out of my car for 6000+ miles already and haven't had any such problems, except for occasional ESP/BAS failure (which goes away after i shut off the car).

Hey 02Impressor,

The ESP/BAS error is a known problem that is very easily fixed. My car started doing it at about 12,000 miles and I waited until 16,000 miles to get it fixed.

There is a TSB on this stating that it's a bad speed sensor or a short in a wire going to the speed sensor. In my case it was a short in a wire going to the speed sensor, and this was repaired by my local dealer in no time. In fact, I was in the loaner car driving on my way to work from the dealership when they called to say that it was fixed.

You must be dealing with Herb Chambers for "service".
That is their favorite quote. I would take my car to a Kia
dealer for service before I brought it to Herb.

I take it to Flagship on route 1N, which is owned by Herb Chambers, and they are very spiled and arrogant. I don;t know where else to take my car except Herb Chambers in Somerville or is it Cambridge.

I meant to say spoiled instead of spiled.

I was at the Atlanta auto show over the weekend, and MB had a booth set up recruiting technicians. I stopped to get a brochure for my nephew, and the guy said they have a hard time getting enough qualified technicians, so they are paying for training now.

See also my thread "Mass air fuel sensor problem:" this is the 2nd time that my car would stall and totally die out. I would accelerate, but the car would not move and it would just die out. The first time I took it in for service, they told me that it was the Mass Air Fuel sensor which is really sensitive. Anyways, my malfunction stated: "Battery/alternator malfunction. See workshop." I don't know why this would show up if it was caused by the mass air fuel sensor!!

Anyone experience the same problem? This is beginning to worry me, since my car is only 3 months old, still with paper license plates!!

The only reason it gave you this code is because the car stalled. I guess it assumes a problem with the battery or alternator because of the engine dying and the power being cut all of a sudden.
