Talking Good ****

This is so sick! I only wish it was half price (about 400) then it would be our ULTIMATE solution to Mercedes complete and utter f@ckup of a bluetooth solution.

yeah 400 would be resonable (factory option for cars ~300-500). But to make yourself feel better for spending $800 (which i will end up doing as well), is tell yourself that it would have cost $1000+ with MB's solution.

i agree with pookie...
not only it's more cost effective than OEM solution, you can always change to virtually any bluetooth phone. if u change ur fone every 1-2yrs, this is it.

i agree with everyone that is ARGOS is tooooo expensive but there's nothing like driving ur car and hearing the "ring ring" on ur speakers jejeje.
it's my way of sticking it to the man (the man being mercedes-benz)

do you have to have that *thing* on your center console? or is that unrelated to the argos?

That "thing" is an extention of his Valentine 1 radar detector.. So no, it has nothing to do with the Argos Bluetooth.

A quickee google search shows the name of what appears to be an American distributor:

http://www.aardvarkmm.com/

No online store yet. But there's a customer service # to call. Too late here or I would have called already!

i'm not sure what ur talking about.... the solution i can't find is about the xm radio not the bluetooth, i'm the one that posted this thread... i already installed the argos on my benzo and i'm very pleased.... except for the price of course, seems also that the website you gave, the argos is more expensive on that page by 50 bucks.

Well, you're right. Stupid me, I didn't look close enough at the vendor link you posted AND almost all the search results were UK based sites leading me to the wrong assumption/conclusion.

I apologize for the needless diversion.

Great pics and congrats on your install -I'm so envious.

Does XM have a receiver that's less intrusive? You're running into three problems, as far as I see it. One, the Jabba-sized XM receiver that you've got. Two, your equally large phone. And three, where you've mounted the concealed display makes it look more cluttered than it needs to be.

Here's what I've done:

Sirius receiver and phone cradle:

(yes, that is the blue mystic replacement trim, btw)

And I've got the concealed display mounted here - doesn't block any readings:

Obviously, you can't do anything about the size of your phone, but moving things around a little and possibly buying a less gargantuan-sized receiver should help.

Yeah, well first of all i would have to go buy another xm receiver
Which i'm trying to avoid at all cost.
Second, u have sirius i'm not sure but seems like they make smaller receivers.
Third, i'm not getting rid of my super cool high tech phone because it looks to big...jeje, i love this phone, i swear upon this phone!

how did u get your valentine 1 there? did u have to open the speedometer thingy? I love it there, it would be perfect, i was also thinking about taking out the buttons where i have mine and putting it flush like if it was built in the dash... it would look tight!

love your set up.... do u have argos too?

Well, by "I did...", I mean I took out my credit card when they were done and paid them.

I'm pretty sure that they did have to pop out the gauge cluster so that they could run the wiring down through the seam there. If I had my car right now, I'd be able to describe it better/take a couple of pics. But yes, the location is perfect, and the wiring isn't noticeable at all behind the unit.

Isn't the Roady pretty small? And yes, I figured that you wouldn't want to change the receiver. Sucks that it's so large. Just switch to Sirius!

As far as the rear signal, where's your V1 mounted? Mine's on the passenger visor, and I've never had any problems. What happens when you don't have the concealed display connected? Do you still get the rear antenna always on from the main unit? A new concealed display's $39, but it would be nice to know that it's the problem before replacing it, I'd say.

No, don't have the Argos. It is tempting - looks like a great product.
