I'm pretty sure that they did have to pop out the gauge cluster so that they could run the wiring down through the seam there. If I had my car right now, I'd be able to describe it better/take a couple of pics. But yes, the location is perfect, and the wiring isn't noticeable at all behind the unit.
Isn't the Roady pretty small? And yes, I figured that you wouldn't want to change the receiver. Sucks that it's so large. Just switch to Sirius!
As far as the rear signal, where's your V1 mounted? Mine's on the passenger visor, and I've never had any problems. What happens when you don't have the concealed display connected? Do you still get the rear antenna always on from the main unit? A new concealed display's $39, but it would be nice to know that it's the problem before replacing it, I'd say.
No, don't have the Argos. It is tempting - looks like a great product.

when i take off the consealed display the main unit does not show the back arrow, it's only on the consealed display.... i don't want to buy i new one, i just got this one, i guess i'll have to return it... pain in the ***

i have my main unit on the driver side instead on the passenger side... it works fine there, most of the time i use the main unit but it sucks cause i did all that work to put the consealed display there and i can't use it because of the arrow always being lit.
yeah i'll have to look around, maybe ebay to get something cheap for the xm.
thanks anyways

Out Of Control!!
"concealed display" is V1's term, not mine.
What's the point of having a radar detector if you can't see what it's detecting easily? The last thing I'd want to do is conceal the arrows on the V1. With it in that location, it's easy to see where the signal's coming from, and adjust my speed accordingly.
As you said, different likes for different tykes. The blue makes more sense if you'd see the entire car. Or, it would be just as ugly as the rest of the interior, depending on your perspective.

Pardon if this has been answered - but I would absolutely LOVE to get this bluetooth kit for my 06 280... my problem is I didn't order the car with the telephone kit - would I need that pricey item first? My display does say "NO PHONE" when I navigate through them... also, I don't have voice command or the tele-aide, so do I need a microphone installed somewhere or is that there anyway? Much thanks...

What about other Bluetooth devices
I have bluetooth out on my XM radio (using a bluetooth audio out device). Is there anyway to get the Argos Bluetooth to recognise the other bluetooth to play music through the sound system.
My S55 is 2002 model.
Either that or does anyone know how to get a simple audio input connector as an "AUX" device. Then I'm home and dry. There isn't any audio jack visible. My mercedes dealer said there isn't one behind the glove box (I don't trust em though).

i'm thinking since franc11s has a 2002 S55, he might actually need this:

OR
https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...&highlight=aux
but, franc11s should post in the S55 or S-class forum to be sure.

I have this phone. its an excellent phone. it works well with my bluetooth system. I dont understand why MB is so antiquated with this stuff. even BMW is pushing factory bluetooth.

I just got the V60 BT adapter.
I originally had the MB V60 phone kit installed in the car, so adding the BT adapter requires just clicking it into the cradle and pairing the phone. The phone is a Verizon RZR (not an MB branded phone).
While the AWS website does not list the Verizon RZR as an official phone, I successfully paired the phone and was able to access the phone book.
Works great.
I also used the adapter in a 2000 S430 (with a V60 kit previously installed). It works great. I was able to pair a Nextel phone with the unit and access the phone book.
This feature is definitely worth the cost.

Just got a v60 BT adapter and use it with my Treo650. Works great, although the phone book doesnt sync. I use the voice activation anyway, so I'm not too bummed.

In fact, could they make it bigger? Maybe one that takes up the entire dashboard? Cuz I think MB didn't make it large enough for us. I would love to have ALL my interior space crammed with that bluetooth device, so it can obstruct even my driving. And I see it takes up the entire top-level space in the center console, so that way I won't have any where to store my Passport 8500 X50 when I'm not using it, and leave it out so someone can break into my car. And let's make the thing even more flashy and obvious, I don't think they carried across the fact that it's an MB device. I hate to biatch, but god I have NO tolerance for stupid, incoherant design. What happened to innovative, clever, and logical design concepts?

I NEVER thought I would say this.........but Acura's Navigation and Bluetooth package is ten times more user friendly and advanced than MB's. Can't say the same for their engineering.........but damn, awesome electronic gizmos.....
MB Bluetooth Design Dept=Idiots.

You must be looking at the wrong device.
The V60 BT adapter is the size of the V60 without the antenna, it is black and only has a Motorola emblem on it. No Mercedes symbol anywhere.
It takes less space than the original phone option.
Does Acura configure current technology to be retrofitted to a 2001 model, or even a 2000 (in the case of the S-Class) model?

I have a hard time installing these kits.
Do I have to connect the Tel in and Radio out?

Tele AID
Does the TELE AID uses the Blutooth phone to make calls ??
reason i'm asking this is that the teleaid is on an analog network which is dying out... so for safety / value teleaid should uses the new digital network on the bluetooth phone....
but then if your car is stolen and your phone is not in it....grr!!!!
